Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Not many players I can claim I have seen, but my son is a huge Barca fan so I have seen Gerard a couple of times in a Barca and a Spanish Uniform, on TV mind you. The kid looks massively talented, but raw as some have already mentioned. Playing with the talent there is in Barca and Spanish U20s it can be hard to judge where he is exactly. However, he would be a good fit for Everton in that coming from the Barca Academy he would slot into RMs system(if he continues to use the same system with Everton) fairly well. He is not a starter, but do we have anything better on the bench?

The interesting thing with this potential deal is the potential to purchase him wont be there.

If he is excellent we 'may' have a chance of securing him for another season + an additional Barca loan.

If he doesn't cut the mustard for whatever reason then very low risk.

Sadly though if he does do well we wont be able to sign him in a year and so pressure will be on to sign someone equally as good...then we all get stressed again !

THIS.

If he is the real deal, and he proves himself at Everton, he's still young and won't be assured playing time at Barca, and so the prospect of a continued loan deal becomes possible.

All in all would be a great addition I feel.

Establishing a good relationship with Barca would be a nice side effect from a couple of successful loans.

STAT OF THE DAY: Everton utility man Steven Naismith scored more league goals last season (4) than £25m PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi (3).

Swansea are billionaires now right? Flog Naismith to them for 25 mil!

But seriously.
Do we really want a Gerard?

calling this as ****e

if its true i hope it is with a deal to buy otherwise we're just developing there talent at a risk of it leaving us in the **** next year.......

Not gonna lie never seen him play, though I take the fact he plays for Barca as a good sign. From what I understand they gave him a 4 year deal in May, another good sign.
Sign the ting!

I bet this guy can't ghost through defenses like Naisy.

Literally, he's far too tan. Naisy is practically translucent.
