Punishment was probably the wrong word.

I think some think he was sent away as wake up call or something, kind of "Get your act together, heres a nice holiday in Milan", he was sent away cos Ronny doesnt want him in his squad.
I wonder does he have inside info that Barca want him back?

Oh come on.

You know what strikes me, everytime we got training session shots, old paper lungs was always laughing, messing around, training is 1 big joke to him, that doesnt sit right with Ronny.

He pulls out of tackles and he goes missing when its time to dig deep.

People are pointing the finger at Ronny, but ask yourself, was it Ronny that binned him off from Barca? Was it Ronny that binned him off from Sevilla? Was it Ronny that dropped him for Aaron Lennon? Was it Ronny that binned him from Milan?

Theres been 1 factor in Geris short career so far, Managers bin him off.

I direct you to comments from Unai Emery :

“He has incredible qualities but lacks others. Put him out there, one on one and ... pfff,” Emery told Sid Lowe.

“But make him play football with teammates, on a big pitch, and it’s hard. He doesn’t have the maturity or capacity for sacrifice yet.

"I told him: 'There are players here who aspire to a contract like yours, men with less talent but more hunger: Iborra, Carriço, Vitolo. They know what it costs. You haven’t experienced that. When you do, you’ll grow. I hope you get that. If not here, somewhere else.'"

2 years later and hes still bouncing around clubs.

Of course.

He'll need a manager that will indulge and spend time with him, make him the main player.

He'll find a club. He's 23.

We're just not a club that indulge that or him. Problem is we need players of his talent to win thing.

Not a chance in hell we give him a new contract, nor would I think theres any chance he would sign 1, we will try and shift him on this summer, if not for a fee, but defo on loan.

Do people think Ronny sent him away as punishment? In the hope that he comes back and all is forgiven? He deemed him not needed, he wont be coming back, hes very much done here.

If he doesnt get sold, whats the point of a loan only for him to walk away. I know we have a new owner but it doesnt mean we can let £10 - £15 million players leave for nothing.

And we also cant force a player to sign a contract that doesnt wish to, we would rather get his wages off the books for 12months, hes not actually a 15m player as far as we are concerned, we paid 4m.

Messi has spoken at barca, said gerri is not the quality that they should be signing, Nail and coffin there.

Thing is we don't, players of his talent aren't good enough if you want to win things, we need quality and for 90 minutes

He's a type of player that's the cream on top of the cake that can win you big games and we need more of them.

He in particular may not be the one due to a number of reasons...but we need that type.

I find it hard to believe that RK would prefer Miralles, Calvert-Lewin or Barkley, who usually produce zero chances for Lukaku,
to Del Boy.

Yes Del Boy is a winger and like many wingers inconsistent but he has magic in them boots. Incidentally, Lukaku tweeted something
to the effect when Del Boy left so did any decent crosses. Del Boy is still young and may yet prove to be a late-developer.

In any case, he would be a fine stop-gap till Bolasie gets back.

He offers something different to anyone in the present first team or U23 squad. If we're chasing a game with 20 minutes to go, he is the first I would to from the bench to create an opening.

With ambitions to do things across multiple cups this year, we could certainly be doing with him in the squad.
