Gerrard's dive

Nebbiolo

Valuation: £108 million
Boss Rafael Benitez insisted referee Martin Hansson was right to award Liverpool a late penalty that secured them a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid.
Deep into injury time, Mariano Pernia was judged to have fouled Steven Gerrard, which left Atletico fuming.
Benitez said: "Had that offence against Steven taken place in the middle of the pitch it would have been a free-kick, so it was a penalty.

First time Ive seen it, the ball was there to be won.

You always knew that the tit Benitez would come out in favour of it.

Leave them to it, they wont win the league this season.

50/50 ball. Should have just let play go on.

Hang on, it was Liverpool at the onion patch. Defo a penalty, practacally assault even Wenger saw it.

Wow, what a surprise.

Liverpool "earn" a penalty in the dying moments of a match to salvage a result.

I'd say that I'm shocked but then I'm not.

I dont know where they get the balls to go on telly and say that was a penalty. Bad case of cheating cos they were beat. Even Dalglish on telly said you wouldnt want that given against you would you. Typical Rs cheating bastards. Hate them even more more now and hated them beyond belief before. Horrible slimy bastards.

To be fair to the RS supporters, even a few of them are questioning Gerrard for this one. Shame his manager isn't.

In the Telegraph Gerrard was quoted as saying had such a decision gone against Liverpool he'd have been livid. Cheating **** know's full well he's a cheating **** yet he still does it time after time. What with him and Owen falling over at every opportunity England long since lost the moral high ground where cheating is concerned.

I like how he adjusts his dive to stay inside the box...

I'm actually not surprised in the slightest anymore by this. He's probably as bad as Ronaldo at doing it now.

It was never a penalty, no doubt in my mind. Gerrard was jumping in on the defender and went down of his own accord but even so those prat pundits on the box said it was a penalty, what rubbish. It cannot be said either that it was a goal scoring opportunity.

Add to that there two hand balls by Liverpool defenders in their own penalty area but nothing given. For me the one by Carragher should have given as a penalty. I mean why did he go to ground rather than stay on his feet to attempt to tackle. Cheating F******.
