It's really that simple. Want to rid the game of this blight? Throw a few ten match bans at offenders and see how many players make their best effort to stay on their feet in the box.

I guarantee you that players will think twice about going down, even under marginal physical contact for fear of being punished.

Thats basically it mate. Video replays should be used like in Rugby. Too many teams are being cheated out of pertentual millions in revenue. This has to stop. If this incident happened against these clowns last night we'd never hear the end of it. Hit them and hit them hard is what I say. A cheat is a cheat plain and simple.

Once the spot-kick had been dispatched referee Martin Hansson completely lost the run of himself, booking a couple more Atletico players for nothing, including Sergio Agüero for booting the ensuing kick-off straight over Liverpool's crossbar - an act of petulance that isn't actually against the rules.
 
Again im just as not surprised by this as others.

There is that saying that "if you can't beat them, join them."

but in this case its total bullshit, you can NEVER respect a cheat, and a team that cheats doesnt deserve anything whether they win it or not.
 

Spanish sports programme last night did a piece on Gerrard obviously related to the penalty. Translating extracts from his autobiography were he takes the moral high ground and criticises The likes of Ronaldo and Drogba. There's a part were he says if he saw a team mate doing it he'd definitely have a word. I imagine it would be two words in reality-''well done''. The programme mixed the extracts from the book with images of him diving. Two faced cheating [Poor language removed]. I've got more respect for the likes of Ronaldo although I hate his on-field antics. At least he doesn't go on one about how other s are ruining the game.
