Apologies if this is the wrong thread, mods, but I've spent quite a bit of time searching, and don't want to start a new thread for what is a simple question.

There is an app called Tapatalk available on iOS and Android that is used to participate in forums. I have accounts with a bunch of forums (RAWK, KopBlocks, RedCafe, ShedEnd, BlueMoon, etc.), and can vouch that it works very well and is much faster than using the phone's browser. I've tried searching for GOT using the Add Forum function in the app, but it comes up empty. It works with Glory-glory which I assume has the same back end as GOT.

Does anybody use GOT through Tapatalk? If yes, please give us a tip as to how to set it up. If no, is it possible for the mods to enable a setting on the server or something to get it to work with Tapatalk?

I think the crux of the matter is, that mobile mode is essentially the equivalent of an app, so unless an app would have tons of bells and whistles, then mobile mode is sufficient.

Hi Pal,

Can you change your avatar please? We welcome non-WUM opposition fans, but we don't want Liverpool crests featuring anywhere on here.

As for Tapatalk - we've considered (and followed it) for years - it doesn't quite do what we need but we'll be making improvements in mobile browsing.

I had tried it about a year and a half ago, and stopped using it after a week because I wasn't impressed and actually preferred the version of RAWK in the mobile browser. A friend recently strongly recommended that I have another go, so I tried the latest version of Tapatalk. It's fabulous. I don't remember what the old version was like, but I remember not being impressed. I've been using the new version for 6 different forums for about a month and a half. I even prefer it over my laptop.

There are 3 reasons that I use Tapatalk.
1. There is a dark theme, which allows me to use the app late at night without upsetting the missus.
2. It is much quicker viewing RAWK, RedCafe, Glory-glory etc. through Tapatalk than through the phone's browser. To move to the next page in a thread, I estimate it takes 1-2 seconds in the app vs 4-5 seconds in browser. This difference is exaggerated in threads with many pictures, videos.
3. I tend to stick to the same threads. The app makes it easy to check 'Participated' threads, but also recommends 'Top picks' which are threads that are popular at the given time. So, I end up exploring and contributing more, rather than sticking to the Liverpool thread.

Groucho, GOT, thanks for the responses. I know that forums run due to the efforts of volunteers and generally go unappreciated, and that people bust your balls for new features constantly, and there are additional considerations such as ad revenue. On a technical level, I don't have any coding knowledge of what would be required to make this work (whether it would take 20 minutes or 20 days), I was just asking.
