Getting to Bramley Moore

I am really fed up of this "debate" about getting to the new ground. Many here need to stop, back off, chill out , or just fcuk off. As an Evertonian for all my life, more than 50 years, look, we went, got in, etc. Sometimes, when I was too young to pub hop, for a rest or to escape rain, I walked for miles. I fully understand that we are in "modern times", but distance, parking, hotdogs, nearest ale, etc etc... JUST GO THE GAME. I await the abuse. Ta lads...
Totally agree mate. I went the test event on Sunday. Apart from the bus getting stuck in the Costco queue it was fine. I won’t take that bus in future anyway - I was just “testing” it.
Walking back we had the stop go at the bridge. Quicker than both West Ham and Brighton so what’s the fuss? Getting away on Sunday was easier than most aways I’ve been to recently.
Just a question though, where will the away coaches park?

Thanks. Good to to see a sensible response.
Many who are moaning, whining and forecasting doom and gloom here, seem to ignore the transport system around Goodison.
Nearest rail station? Kirkdale, which is also "not fit for purpose" as they like to say.
Buses after the game? Great aren't they?
Taxis getting close? Not really.
I was in Goodison in the past with over 50,000 present and I don't recall the outrage...
I await more abuse...

Kirkdale is a 15 minute walk.
Buses everywhere after games.
Taxis stop on county etc which is also 5 minute walk to GP.
GP isn't perfect for transport, but as it stands it's 100x better than BMD. I blame Everton as much as LCC. You knew the drawback of that location and both have done nothing about it.

THANKS but you write as if I have never been to Goodison!
Anyway, for me Kirkdale is 20 minutes. walk. I usually stop for a pint half way in one of the run-down pubs. A ritual.
But, come on, taxis after the game are not easy to get.
With respect, IMO, Goodison is not 100 x better. That is my feeling, that is why I (and others) think many are overreacting.
Ta again.

No worries mate, not having a go at you like haha. So as you say, 20 mins from kirkdale and that's with having a pint. Not too bad. Never gonna be enough cabs when 40k people come out of anywhere, but at least it's an option. They cant even drive past the new place.
Think people are bringing up genuine concerns. I parked in me usual place for the first test event (park by the dark house in walton) and it took me 30 mins. If your old, have mobility issues, have kids etc etc surely you can see why what's currently happening isn't good enough for a £800m stadium.

Unless you leave early , are lucky or go for a few pints after taxis are gettable but far from easy in my opinion . If you were lucky and going into town be prepared to sit in a line of traffic heading the city .

Everyone seems to think goodison is perfect transport wise

Thanks mate. Appreciated. Just trying to get answers/views/opinions. I think you see it clearly.
PS. Sorry, I meant 20 minutes from Kirkdale to Goodison WITHOUT a pint stop.

Exactly, this is what I was driving at...
We move to a new place and everything has to be perfect... the world we now live in etc

His point is that we all got there and we all got home safely, for now.

But anybody who attended that game saw the issues and they saw the utter mayhem that will happen when you add another 25k drunk and possibly beaked up fans and add in a sprinkling of away fans and it has all the hallmarks of an utter crap show.
Not to be negative, but you quite a few problems with 2 test events. If OP and others can't see that there's huge issues that haven't been addressed with current stadium, then they are deluded. Major violence has been avoided at derby games, because, we drink around GP, they drink around Anfield, before and after game. Considering the amount of police it took for them to escort RS across park, and even then plenty of object were thrown. With parking ban, more people are likely to have a drink if using public transport, so your going to have 3000 RS having to get through thousands of Blues into ground. Not just walking across park, down Bullens Road and straight into ground. You're going to have huge numbers of fans drinking in town, it's a recipe for disaster. GP is pretty decent for transport, parking ban encourages fans to use public transport, problem is there's no proper public transport system that serves Bramley Moore.
