Gillett on the way out of LFC - Hicks looking to take full control

The Telegraph reported this week that Hicks is signing a £281m refinancing deal, which would give him another two years in charge of the club. The skinny seems to be that George Gillett is now bankrupt, and due to the nature of the Americans' previous refinancing deal, Tom Hicks is now personally responsible for the debt that GG defaulted on. It's not a "takeover bid" as such, it's a contractual obligation that he has to fulfil to RBS. If this is the case then the board 'blocking' this is newspaper fantasy, as RBS would go absolutely freaking mental.

I wish they were in the same situation as Man Utd with the glazers holding on as its their only asset. Unfortuantly the more the two yanks struggle the less money the club will be sold for and seem like a bargin, then the new owner will have even more money to spend on buying the title (but thats ok because they have won it before, its only wrong if city or chelsea do that!)

Personally I can't see why they don't just sell their other buisness', sell Anfield and rent back the stadium, claiming to use the money to build the new stadium (then just sit on the cash!).
Liverpool FC is a cash cow, same as United, everytime you go past tourists are paying to go to the club shop/museum tour. The dickheads who protest on the streets do so in OFFICIAL liverpool shirts, that £45 in the yanks pockets, they do so on the way to attending a match thats another £40 just for the ticket, with a programe at £5 in his back pocket.
The Yanks could survive on just keeping control of the club and not investing. They're fools to sell

The Yanks wont go without a fight, they have had to put up with a fair bit of stick, so wont be handing it over to the bank easily.

Come on Hicks, find the dosh and keep hold of them.
