If we do sign him, people will only complain that Moyes doesn't start with him before he eventually ends up at Tranmere.

Here is how I see things.

Vellios was bought with no intention by Everton to actually use him for the greater good. The plan was, play him a little, get his value up and sell for a big profit. Actually this was very clever. Everton bought him for £250k and probably the actual amount was less as Everton cleverly put in clauses that the the less he plays, the less they pay per season. Vellios is now easily worth a mil or more. Job done. The awkward part was when he started outscoring the senior Everton strikers in the prem despite sporadic appearances. However that nastiness was quickly extinguished as he was quickly put back into the reserves 'to learn more..' Problem solved.

Now Katidis. Interesting case. The better player at Aris is Gianniotis however Katidis still has potential to triple whatever Everton pay for him in about 1 season depending how much Everton strategically play him. He is very young, under 19 captain and a strong central mid who likes to score. However,...Aris saw what Everton did with Vellios and probably wanted a bit more of the cake than a broken Iraklis could haggle. The £400k offer by Everton was initially turned down by Aris because like with Vellios, the sum is affected by how much Katidis plays. The less he plays, the more of Aris' £400k flutters away into oblivion and we all know Everton have no interest in developing young Greek players into starters atm and playing them loads. For me at least these Greek youth are simply good business for Everton. Problem is, with Aris, AEK and friends selling or releasing 90% of their main squads from last season due to severe debts and relying heavily on their youth teams for this season, Katidis type deals are not going so cheap this summer. For example, here has been Aris's transfer window so far and below is AEK's...

What this means is for the first time, Greek youth is starting to reach the price range of Croatian/Serb and Romanian youth, ie, a bit more expensive than before and a little less profit for the Evertons of the world.I think if Everton are a little more generous, Katidis will be theirs.

......Just a smidgen of Greek bias there.

He's a young Greek lid, they're unfortunately filled to the brim with testosterone, thousands of years of too many ideas and casual homosexuality each winter. This incident will lead him into much soul searching crying into a bottle of ouzo in the local bouzouki for a month or two and beneath those tears and tragedy he will perversely never be as happy in his f*cking life.
