Not necessarily comparing them, just more an overall point. Pornography is consensual but the prevalence of it and easy access has left a lot of young men with skewed ideas about what is deemed consensual or acceptable.

There's a catalogue of stories from the porn scene that all end up so very similar, used up youth, used up bodies, cast aside and forgotten, fall into misery and self destruction. Some of the chaps have similar type stories of getting very ill and dying young. Rough business, there's not a lot of pension care and solid investment advice in the industry. Broken lives further smashed to pieces.

It's being normalised. I don't know what's going on with girls/women thinking of this self abuse as a career option. I get angry with the whole 'her body, her choice' crowd,and though a truism, it's just a cold catchall that kicks the issue into the long grass.
There's always been, for want of a better word, nutters. I've just been reading about Mark 'Chopper' Read, and the other day about Alain Robert, and somewhere in the midst about I think a british test driver that died at the wheel/controls of a world attempt high speed car. If we start moralising about one set of choices because of perceived harms but not others we leave ourselves at the mercy of hypocrisy and limiting civil liberties and freedoms. Close all pubs, and full english serving cafes? The movement over tobacco recently I overwhelmingly applaud.
This would be the hill I'd be prepared to die on.
