I make that 40 players
There are only 20 players I'd keep out of that lot.( 2 of whom we don't own.)
That 20 includes Baines ,Holgate and Walcott who would not bother me if they are sold/released and replacements brought in.
Goes to show you the mess Brands has to sort out
So we have 15 players I'd want to keep.

I was trying to think of players we’ve sent on loan who go on to be regular first teamers for us. I might be wrong, but I can’t think of lots. Osman and Barkley perhaps. DCL and Davies didn’t go on loan because the Manager thought he could use them.

Of the players returning from loan I reckon only Vlasic, Dowell, Onyekuru, Holgate and Baningime have a non-zero chance of playing for us again.

....I imagine all of those are surplus to requirements if offers come in.

The only loanee that Silva has openly said he wants part of pre-season training is Joe Williams.

I think Cuco is a right-back - just BFS played in at LB. Callum Connolly is as odd one. Probably the fact he can play so many positions counts against him, but useful to have in the squad in an 'Alan Harper' kind of way!
