Besic the odd one out here as having zero chance of getting a game. The deadwood deadwood is almost gone (sorry Mo). Now the architect can’t move onto the deadwood.
 
Can’t you put Besic in the culled section? Not registered for the league, out of contract in June. Literally can’t play another game for us. Right?

I’d also love a players set to return list (anyone culled who’s contract is not expired) but it’s your thread!

Walcott and Bolaise are the only 1s who contracts are expiring.

Besic might get named tomorrow when we submit our squad.

Besic not even registered.

Delph and Bernard offering little.

Coleman finished.

Olsen and King loans up at end of the season.

So that’s six players required straight away.

We also have questions over Pickford, Iwobi, Sigursson and Gbamin, but I don‘t think well have the funds to do anything about these.

Also heights the lack of youth coming through. We need to hope Simms and Gordon have good loans.
 
Given we have only 23 players in the squad that need named I hope we name both Broadhead and Besic. 8 out on loan 2 never returning. Hopefully the 2021/2022 will be an almost perfectly balanced squad.
 

Shifted out a lot of dross. Of course some of it could return like a bad smell in the Summer (looking at you Tosun).

Still overburdened with slow ineffective midfielders and we could do with losing at least 3 of them (Delph / Besic / Bernard /AN Other).

Looks promising for the summer though. Dare I hope for some early deals...

Possibly no because they cannot contribute to the first team just let them be and train on their own or u23. Just pay Besic off like Tarashaj. Small and Onyango on the bench when needed.

Will just have this 23 men squad just to make a point.
 
None of it matters until we get rid of Coleman Siggurdson Davies Bernard. Championship level players masquerading in the premier league. Far far too slow for top level football.

That almost looks like a squad! Besic and Delph out, and a starting right back and I don't think we'd have any complaints at all. Quite an incredible improvement over the last few seasons imo

Just not enough goals in it. DCL might get 15 upwards a season, Richarlison normally should be about 15, James might get you 7 or 8. Let’s hope King pitches in a few. We get a decent return from our centrebacks from set pieces, but that’s about it. It’s nowhere near the 100 goals target for the squad that Fergie used to use as an aspiration.

We need three or four forwards that we can rely on to get to double figures every season. At the moment we have one. We then need one of our midfielders to probably hit double figures as well. None of them are close or look like they ever would unless James plays at ten and starts taking all set pieces and penalties and goes a full season without injuries.

We have too many players that are very unlikely to score in Coleman Allan Gomes Godfrey. Out of those Gomes is the most disappointing as the others aren’t really supposed to be scoring. Whichever of Allan or Docuoure find themselves going box to box really need to start weighing in too. Then we would need far far more from Iwobi and Bernard to make it work. At the moment we’re miles off that so I can see far more work being needed on the squad.
