Tbh manxtoffee, in order to decide that I'd have to rewatch the whole match again, as the adrenaline makes it a bit difficult to decide that during the game. Somehow I don't think I will do that though. Honestly think the dutch gave a good account of themselves.

. No worries Dutch. I've felt like this many many times with Everton.

The Spanish are not worthy World Champions. In living memory, they're just outshaded by the ropey German winners from 1990 for being the worst value WC winners...and that's debateable given the Germans scored 15 that WC. The 1990 final was similarly niggly, with few chances, dives and a sending off...and a dodgy late winner.

That last night was an awful end to an awful tournament.

snoozer of a game... solid tournament.

Same old Espana. World Cup win with Basques and Catalans didn't seem to impres some:

"Injuries were reported in the separatist-minded Basque Country where three people were arrested for assaulting supporters of the Spanish national team, local police said."

"...just 24 hours before the World Cup final more than a million Catalans marched on Barcelona to protest government moves to curtail the region's autonomy. In comparison, an estimated 75,000 people took to Barcelona's streets to watch the final."

Surely the Basques like Alonso and Catalans like Puyol, Inesta, etc cant take as much out of this WC win as the likes of Cassilas, Sergio Ramos and Villa?
