Golf 2025 Season…….

This is so nice to hear from him, especially with all the crap that Harry Diamond gets.

But McIlroy said: “I’ve known Harry since I was seven years old.

"I met him on the putting green at Holywood Golf Club. We've had so many good times together. He's been like a big brother to me the whole way through my life.

"To be able to share this with him after all the close calls that we've had, all the [nonsense] that he's had to take from people that don't know anything about the game, yeah, this one is just as much his as it is mine.

"He's a massive part of what I do, and I couldn't think of anyone better to share it with than him.”

McIlroy pointed out the crucial role Diamond played in steadying his nerves before the play-off.

"Harry and I were walking to the golf cart to bring us back to the 18th tee, and he said to me, 'Well pal, we would have taken this on Monday morning,'" said McIlroy.

"I'm like, 'Yeah, absolutely we would have.' That was an easy reset.

"I just kept telling myself, just make the same swing you made in regulation. I hit a great drive up there, and the rest is history."

He is also the sponsor of a Junior Golf Tournament, one of the biggest in the UK, as it is shown on Sky.

Rose was also massive in helping the Womens game get through Covid, setting up tournaments to make sure they could still play and earn money during a very difficult time.

Just an all round great guy.

Love the line, 'obviously I wanted to be the bad guy'

His last real shot at winning a Grand Slam, and this arrogant narcissist MAGA ming expects Rory to be all buddy with his biggest rival on the final day?

I have a niggling feeling that he did not like the bigger cheers coming for McIlroy all day.

My wife absolutely despises Dechambeau. Within the first few minutes of seeing him and hearing him speak, a few years ago, she already knew what he was about and is not buying this 'likeable' persona. I certainly trust her judgement. It was funny, on Saturday she was unusually really invested in the golf, as she desperately wanted McIlroy to be playing the final day with somebody nice like Lowry.

I’m sure that’s why it was. Bryson was hoping for support similar to what he experienced at Pinehurst. He feeds off the energy of the crowd. When he heard the roars and chants of Riry Rory after McIlroy birdied the 3rd and 4th holes, his game went to pieces.

Just read over the thread reliving the last few holes and playoff…. I had to turn off after the 18th and was staring at the ceiling at 01:30 (or whatever) trying to sleep .. forget it. Eventually sneaked a peak at my phone to see he won.

Will go down as one of the greatest golf final rounds in history.. unreal..
