Goodison Facelift

I don't see the point in investing much into goodison if we're trying to move to a new stadium. If that isn't going to happen then goodison needs a lot more than just a facelift.

I think the blue wall bit look good. Really good actually, just above that is the worry! Well not worry, just somewhere it could be improved.

Espanyol have similar cladding to the free school and also utilise solar energy. New cladding would make the place look much better in my opionion.

Classic not dated.

For stadium exteriors seem to be in two categories the spaceship look or the traditional look. There's no right or wrong, just personal preference.

For me, Villa's brickwork is a classic look, the grey sheets at Goodison look dated. The inside of the stadium still looks great.

The other half was telling me about a nice project at the Za Lužánkami stadium in Brno. To put it mildly, it was in a bit of a state of disrepair.

Anyway, an old player in the city wanted to give the old girl a decent send-off so recruited thousands of fans to tidy her up and play one last game before it was knocked down. In a couple of weeks they turned it from the above into the below

All via a voluntary effort from the fans. Reckon if we all turned up with a paintbrush we could spruce up the Old Lady

I've just put a massive pic of Dunc up outside my house, and painted my rusting windows.

Something needs to be done, Goodison is beautiful to me, and i still enjoy walking there every match day, but it's a state! It looks like it's ready to crumble.

We may not want to accept that we have no money for a stadium, we may not want to accept that we have no money for top signings, but come on...we must have some funds to be able to keep the stadium looking fresh and alive.

Disagree. As one writer said a number of years ago, bemoaning the loss of the old red brick majesty of GP, the ground from the outside just looks like a giant brewery.

......remember that old TV programme where Aneka Rice got a load of folk together to do something at no cost, there must be some handy lads in our fan base who could make necessary improvements. As a civil servant I'm only good with a pen but happy to watch.

Pity Arl Bill's not Hamish, one phone call and we could a new stadium built within a week.
