Convinced some posters on here are simply wums poss rs fans. Christ the club are finally making good to an old tired stadium yet still some wingers are taking aim. They have publicly stated a new stadium is in motion so a big shout for the new direction we have begun at the club. This at least will look better than what we had before 100% so let's filter out the trolls lurking on here and have them a public whipping on match days for our pleasure and gratification (or mine at least). Fans arriving at Goodison Park for Everton’s first Premier League game of the season on Saturday may have notice the Old Lady is in the process of being given a facelift.

An extensive refurbishment programme is well underway which will see the stadium exterior given a new look.

Royal blue cladding is being placed on the existing towers in the corners of the ground, with a new tower planned for the corner of the Bullens Road and newly-named Sir Philip Carter Park Stand .

Once the cladding and towers are complete, huge graphics will wrap around three of the stands and a new lighting system will illuminate the stadium like never before.

With the work continuing into the autumn there is also a creative process being undertaken inside the stadium with the Everton Fans’ Forum working with the club to change the feel of Goodison’s historic concourses.

Throughout the close-season, the Blues official Fans’ Forum called upon their fellow Evertonians to submit ideas for artwork, personal images and their favourite player shots to feature across the stadium concourses, alongside classic imagery and famous stories and songs.

The first phase of the concourse artwork in the Top Balcony is well underway and fans sat in the highest seats at the ground will see some of the most iconic figures embossed on the walls and pillars with quotes attributed to several Everton greats.

Peter Reid, Roy Vernon and Duncan Ferguson all feature as well as Everton’s club ambassadors Graeme Sharp, Ian Snodin and Graham Stuart. The ambassadors were joined by cult hero Pat Van Den Hawue for a special tour to see the artwork.

Sharp said: “I am honoured to be represented on the concourses. The artwork really does make a difference to the concourse and fans will enjoy reading up on some of the fantastic players and characters that have represented Everton, whilst enjoying a Chang or two!”

Nick Mernock, Chairman of the Everton Fans’ Forum, added: “We wanted to work with the wider fanbase to help us re-energise the stadium. We felt that for the Top Balcony we could draw on the Club’s history and cause a bit of discussion with the players chosen, the quotes used and the songs associated with Everton.

“Things are moving very quickly with the other stands and over the next couple of games fans sitting in each of the other stands will begin to see some unique artwork which includes player and fan images.”

The holy trinity one is so ace. Definitely need to make posters and t-shirts of that, it's quality.

You'll find there are plenty of miserable buggers on here who just enjoy a good moan - "where's the Arteta money Bill?", "Where's the Stones money Moshiri", "We're not signing anyone", "Same old Everton", "Moshiri is a fraud" etc etc etc. Probably best to ignore it and not bite onto the fishing hooks ;)

Doesn't look fantastic but definitely better than what we have now.
Why waste too much money, when we will building a new stadium ourselves. Think the club has got it just about right with the alterations, really like the work internally with the concourses. I would hope the club would adapt something similar, internally at the new stadium.
