Goodison Park today

If you want unconditional support and for it to all be happy, there's a nice little cult across the park that would welcome you with open arms and a cool glass of koolaid.
I don’t think the RS have unconditional support; rather, many Liverpool fans have never experienced anywhere near poor football. Not an iota.

Their worst league position in decades is eighth, and they’ve won trophies in every since decade since the 1960s. We’ve went the other way.

Still, I do feel that our fan base has morphed into something that isn’t very nice, but the reason why isn’t as simple answer at all.

Go to your ma's, tear her apron off, drag her to Goodison and throw her on the pitch to put herself about a bit and smack the players hiding behind her skirt. And toss that drunk lousy husband onto the pitch too. Might snap a leg or two
Sorry it was too complex an analogy for you.

I remember pub watchers of the cult saying they were finished with football and its all about money in brendas last season. Total spoilt hypocrites who have never been a game half of them.

You really needed Goodison to be rocking yesterday, Unfortunately, it was anything but even from the off.

Wolves set up exactly like villa did, go down, stop play, really frustrate the crowd and it worked to a tee.

The players probably don’t deserve the backing, but we needed go back them there, and the back of the Gwladys was nothing short of embarrassing to be honest, amount of squabbling, sheer fume and lack of backing just shows that the crowd have gone.

Lampard relied massively on that crowd, but let’s have a reality check, they don’t come out for the rest of the season now.

This narrative has got really weird. I’ve also said before, all these people saying ‘the atmosphere was so flat, it was embarrassing’ are you actually doing anything to change it or is that someone else’s job? It feels like there’s enough of you saying it that you could create a great atmosphere if you got off your arse and did something instead of just blaming everyone else.

If the players aren't up for a fight you can't expect the fans to be

No amount of clapping and cheering would have got us the win

The players have relegation all over their faces. It's up to lampard and whoever to change their mindset. If they want it changing that is

Just remember lads that when you go into work today and you can't be arsed trying its all because your boss/coustmers/clients weren't nice enough to you. They should've clapped more often and louder for you. That would've fixed everything and made you try harder!

I don't know about anyone else but personally in all my years of working never once have I had my name sang by my clients/coustmers. Frankly I think that its a wonder that I'm able to function at work at all!?

You need to do a rallying call mate. Tell everyone there’s no hiding place etc.

Seeing as it was directly below my post, I’ll just comment on this.

I’m always positive, it does my head in. But what can you do? People were fuming before we kicked a ball.

But when you’ve got a load of idiots arguing with police, telling the players to “Die” “rats”, you need Goodison to be rocking to stand a chance.

It’s not the fans fault, far from it, but it needs to be scaving and angry to benefit us, and just don’t think we’ll get that back.

We cant blame the fans. The players do need to stand up and play with 100% which we are not seeing.

Everton fans have been moaning in the crowds for years. You won't change this culture over night not with this squad. Did you see the match yesterday,? Wolves pass through us like butter and it was so embarrassing at home. The fans are doing well to stick with this crap and ruining their weekends by going to SUPPORT the players.

And it’s not just Everton it happens at either, it happens everywhere.

My brother in law is a Kopite and he said it’s the same at Anfield, even when they are playing as they are now.

Agreed. Hoe can you sing songs when players can't string a pass together and hide on the pitch. It's a disgrace. The supporters will show their anger when are struggling against Burnley and Newcastle. This is going to get bad in the stands and this is on the players.

I do feel for players like Coleman who are finished and keeps getting picked.

Yeah it’s not Coleman’s fault, but it seems every manager has got to play him.

I remember Peter Reid was getting leathered as his legs had gone towards the end of his time.

There are some idiots who go the game, that's hardly a secret. A few people being like that isn't a reflection of the crowd though. I didn't think the atmosphere yesterday was toxic or negative at all, neither did anyone I spoke to afterwards. We all agreed it was just flat, apathetic almost, rather than negative. People are scared, they're nervous and need something to be able to latch on to and they're not getting it. We've taken 7 points at home in 6 months, and haven't scored a goal in our last 4 games, I honestly just don't know what people are expecting from the crowd.

Standing ovation they got for a loss against City, a loss. Simply because the team did actually show some spirit and fight.

Old Trafford would not have done the same in the circumstances, we'd clap them off the pitch in a loss to the RS if we put everything in to it. I've been there when its happened.

The fans ask for little as they know there's only little on the table.

They do ask for a bit of effort and they like to have the feeling the players actually care about the cause. It's a big ask for fans to make their way to the ground, fight for parking spaces, pay through the nose and make their way home again at weird o clock.

Nothing to do with the fans, our fans are predictable, show some effort and you'll have the best support there is, act like you don't want to be there and accept what comes your way.

We're no different to any other fans and better than most.
