Goodison Park.

My grandad first started taking me when Davy Hickson was in his first spell. The place has always had a special feel about it and
there was a time when not many argued that it was the best ground in the league. Nobody worried about obstructed views then.

There have been many good suggestions for redevelopment since the King's Dock debacle and most quite feasible, but whether we rebuild or move, it's going to cost money which we don't have. Goodison isn't worth that much in terms of real estate - I think I heard 15 mil', once - and that's a good reason to redevelop if we ever find a financial partner. At least we wouln't have to find or pay for a site. Not holding my breath there, though, and in the meantime I'll just keep loving the place.

If i had access to a time machine i'd spend alot of time watching games from different eras and seeing how Goodison Park went from being a simple playing field to the iron beast it is today. Like many others have said i'm deffo for redevelopment rather then relocation, Dixie Dean spent his last day alive there FFS it's just riddled with what makes Everton boss.

not so sure about "iron beast" given the amount of wood in the arl girl.

Am I right in thinking that if we win or draw today, we'll have only been beaten once at home in 2012?

If so, that's some going. Can't be many teams with that record.

I was wondering actually what our 2012 stats are ?

Good finish to last season coupled with a good start this must put it up there tbh.

TD will work it out, he eats Numerical Spaghetti.

I've just been reading through this thread, again. When the frig was Fulham redeveloped? It doesn't look any different from the last time I went there forty odd years ago. ( League Cup tie v Bristol Rovers.)

Remember when they played at Loftus Road for 2-3 years? It was redeveloped then

It's not a stadium it's a priceless work of art. The only ones that get the really bad seats are the away fans and the once a season lads. It works for us.

Love Goodison, one of the best grounds Ive been in in Britain. Traditional stadium, tight to the pitch and compact. I prefer these grounds to the ones where there is a big running track or similar round the perimiter of the pitch.

Being a Celtic fan myself, Parkhead is poor in comparison to Goodison albeit it's bigger but doesnt make it better. Not been too many grounds in England other than Old Trafford and Goodison.

As the SPL is a **** league with really **** teams their stadiums are all stuck in timewarps which is good for the fans because mostly every away trip throws up a good day out with a mix of terracing and tight and steep stadiums.

Out of interest, is the Gladys Rd end only season book holders? My old man (who got me started with the love for Everton) always said that end was the best to get a ticket for. Unfortuneately I've never managed to get a seat there though I'd love to.
