We could have a totaliser on each members profile, when it hits an amount they're banned.
I looked at a piece of software that allowed members the option to disable it, but its against our publisher terms.

On a telephone line you can be prevented from calling someone if your number is hidden.
Can you not make it where folks cannot access unless they disable their adblock ? even if it was on a timer type thing whereby it was disabled for 20 minutes or so, or even have it in the sites terms & conditions ?
Looking at it another way though, aren't folks that are likely to have adblock the types that wont click the ads anyway ?
Enable linking direct to Amazon account so that folk can buy stuff, maybe if the membership subscription was done that way then the 2 would be linked forever, like ebay/paypal accounts link ?

Doesn't matter mate, there's a big value to having the ad loaded you see.
We get a return per x amount of loads, and it allows me to go to businesses and say "look, if you had your business on here your ads would have been loaded x amount of times".
Good shout. I tried to embed an Amazon store, which collated all EFC books etc but without boring you with the detail, Amazon don't support encryption, so it wouldn't work with our padlock in the URL.
Local businesses would really help - tremendous opportunity to reach a local audience for buttons (comparatively to elsewhere).
Good idea, gambling license screws us a bit though.
