GOT World Exclusive - video footage of the Lille police incident - CONTAINS BAD LANGUAGE

Thats the CS gas mate, they have a huge great pump spray of the stuff, like in this...

article-1353297-0D0AA134000005DC-23_634x354.jpg

That woman sat their looks like a hardened criminal with her little sign. Looks like she's on Interpols most wanted.

Incidentally on that photo - they were apparently trying to save a historic steam train line and that CRS officer just started spraying them with CS. Then it turned ugly.

The parallels with what happened in "The battle of Lille Square" as the French Police are now calling it are unmistakable.

3 of those French undercover police who were in the square when it kicked off, were also at Lille station on friday evening monitoring the Everton fans queuing for the Eurostar train, i recognised them from the photos i've seen today...

The angry fella in the glasses seemed to be in charge at Lille Station. Couldn't understand why people in the queue weren't getting angry at the stupid delays and lack of information until you got near the border control bit and there were 10 police and 5 soldiers etc.

'GOT World Exclusive'

spare me...

10 pages in before somebody had a pop... Didn't see anyone else with as much comprehensive video footage of the whole thing as me - certainly not the French tv 'footage' that was 10 seconds of a close up of one of the 3 scallies throwing things (that Radio Merseyside's twitter retweeted).

So yeah, it is/was a 'world exclusive'.

Was in Lille square for about 5 mins yesterday when my mate went to get a drink, he went to a bar down a quiet side street .....

... As he was on his way back the square he noticed he was being followed by about 10 or more people who he believed were Lille fans...

... 3 of the men started to get very close to him looking very aggressive because he had heard of the trouble the night before ...

... He decided to try and get away from the situation and ran into the crowd being chased by who he thought were Lille fans ...

.. When they shouted police he turned around and was tackled to the ground and dragged Into a shop by police were he was gassed twice...

.. That is when the riot started, the police are saying he was a known football hooligan and drug dealer who was spotted dealing drugs...

.Also stating it was him who started the trouble the night before, we didn't get to Lille until Thursday and he had no drugs on him at all..

... He was released today with no charge because there was no evidence against him and several police officers have given completely..

.. Accounts of what happened he was not allowed a phone call or anything to eat, he has been to 2 matches in two years and it was his..

...1st away game he had ever been to even in England some football hooligan that, that's the truth of what happened please share this story

The plot thickens....

Whole thing smacks of a put up job. They were determined that they were going to have a 'show of force'.

- They told their local media that hooligans were coming.
- They asked the local businesses & bars not to sell alcohol on the day, but they all refused.
- They claimed you would need a ticket to get in & out of the square and parts of the City - none of this materialised.
- There was no trouble & no arrests, so a very convenient chase of 1 unarmed man by 9 undercover cops into a crowded area created the necessary panic & chaos needed for plausible deniability in order to use tear gas & rubber bullets, to disperse a crowd of peaceful, jovial drinkers that they didn't want congregating in the square in the first place.
- And the man arrested gets released without any charge - so much for him being a 'well known hooligan & drug dealer'.

Whole thing stinks.

This is the thing.

Our fans spend in some cases thousands of pounds a year following everton.

Yes we have some idiot fans who can act disgracefully. Seen some thieving from a motorway service station before afew years back. Disgrace to our club. But this is minor compared to the hundreds of thousands of Everton fans.

However we have no real known issue with football violence wholesale.

The media reporting and statements by the French police do stink of an organisation trying to justify something they can't by vilification.

Our fans were not drunken or rioting.

Now if I were Robert Elstone or Bill Kenwright I would be directing the club to investigate then to potentially take it to UEFA.

For one thing its never good to see your customers being beaten up and tear gased and have rubber bullets fired at them.

The French police completely lost the plot and the CRS had no clue how to handle that football match.

Uefa will be interested given France is hosting the next Euros

EFC will want to know because its this kind of stuff that stops people going to football matches at all. So EFC also lose money.

Maybe we want to bury this before the beauts at UEFA find a excuse to hire a referee to end our presence in the competition. You know, like Panathinaikos (1971), Villarreal (2005) and so on..

It's not without surprise that we've had hundreds of fans from other Clubs (English and French) report of the same treatment in Lille.

The facts.

Lille Police report;

How did they handle it identifying one fan they wanted to remove?

They sent in a gang of thugs (who actually turned out to be unmarked police) into thousands of Evertonians to target an Evertonian - this, hours after an unprovoked attack from Lille fans to Everton fans;

A couple of Evertonians reacted. The police then panicked/knee jerked, indiscriminately firing tear gas and rubber bullets (which they initially denied doing), causing this;

They're lucky it was Everton. Most Clubs would have reacted and went on an absolute rampage after being treated that way.

Love the old guy third pic down sat with his shopping as

To be honest, the first thing i saw was someone throwing a bottle of a can ( a red one ) 0:09 seconds on the first video.
That wasn't thrown at them and there was no Red bottles it will been from Mcdolands chip packet if anything it was thrown in the air and not even towards them they threw the tear gas straight away over reaction training exercise never seen numbers like that before

some of the other pictures of the 'snatching' i.e. not the ones with the big rings on, show folk just standing around with hands in pockets, nobody reacting at all, some may have then started to question the heavy handedness but there wasn't exactly anyone kicking off, as I remember it was only when the Riot Squad arrived that anyone started to react and then it was just bellends lobbing bottles at them.... bellends that were booed by the rest & told to stop.

The first thing I don't get is if one of the lads was a 'known football hooligan' then why was he allowed out of the country? All 'known' hooligans are on a data base, as they get arrested and convicted, that customs officers use to make sure they don't attend matches abroad. During the World Cup we were informed that 300 or so known football troublemakers had their passports confiscated. But this Everton 'known' hooligan was allowed to travel abroad to a game that was to be attended by well over 5 000 Evertonians, and Merseyside police never went to his house and demanded his passport. Incredible incompetence, if that is actually true that the police were trying to arrest this known hooligan.

Secondly, the other person the spotters tried to get arrested was a known drug dealer. Did this 'known' drug dealer actually have drugs on him to deal in France? If he did then the customs officers that searched him should be sacked immediately for gross incompetence. And the sniffer dog should return to the kennels and put its' paws up and just eat Winalot the rest of its natural. A 'known' drug dealer without drugs is just a man going abroad.
The plot thickens....

And what part have Merseyside police played in this charade? They need to ask some basic questions like did they point out this 'known' hooligan and/or drug dealer? If not then they need to inform the club and the media that they played no part in identifying and this led to the chasing of an Evertonian. Because at the moment Merseyside police and the border agency are in the dock for letting a 'known' football hooligan and/or a drug dealer out of the country. The club and Liverpool's MPs need to demand some answers from Merseyside police and the Home Office/Foreign office.

That's the thing mate. And you can hear it is the videos the op posted, Evertonians telling other Evertonians to stop throwing things. On one of the videos I think you see a bloke walk up to another and grab his arm and stop him lobbing something. For older Evertonians like myself the thought of trouble In Europe and a potential UEFA investigation and possible trouble for the club, is to hard to bear. Considering what happened to us in 1985. I would go as far as to say, that we are THE most sensitive supporters, in England, to any trouble from our supporters in Europe because of what we missed out on.

What I witnessed in the square was Evertonians having a drink and singing as we normally do. The locals, young, old and parents with children, were walking amongst us and with no fear or the demeanour of people scared. I don't think there were any incidents of robbing or other criminality.

And when it did kick off our supporters were really restrained, from what I saw on the videos, having left the Square about 1.30 pm., because I believe what the consequences of trouble in Europe would mean for us.

We were a credit to our club, and ourselves, when we went to Rotterdam in 85, and received many a letter from organisations, and locals, praising our supporters. We were a credit to our club when we went to Nuremberg and again were praised by the locals. We are not all angels but on the whole the vast majority of Evertonians go to the game to support the team and have a good time.
