GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

NWA powerr is probably the only thing in wrestling that I still always enjoy these days. I don't mind AEW but I find many of their matches far to choreographed to the point of being embarrassing. Considering that they try to portray themselves as more sport like and legit then WWE they never even try to follow the basic rules. Many of their guys have athletic talent but are so bland and boring that its unreal.

Sadly I agree. I enjoy Dynamite, but there's so much room for improvement as you point out here. There haven't really been all that many matches that made me go "wow". What sets AEW apart from the rest for me is Cody Rhodes. He's just that good. And Jericho's stable obviously, big fan of everyone in it.

Big fan of MJF and Mox. I think there's a good, albeit thin, top-level roster developing there.

Yeah, MJF is incredible. I absolutely hated Mox in WWE, but I'm starting to really enjoy him myself. Safe to say, I prefer wrestlers who can tell a story in and outside of the ring, and wrestlers who actually understand ring psychology.

100%. @Gwladysstreetlad defo right about some of the matches, I despise the heavily choreographed stuff. Mox and MJF can do a fraction of the crap that the Bucks try in their matches and are ten times more over because they are credible and are telling an actual story. Cody Rhodes is a genius imo

Glad to hear there's people with a brain out there. Hah. And don't forget Dustin. Very underrated imo. I still haven't forgotten his match with Jericho on WWE Superstars ages ago. Match of the year back in 2008 or something. And he still performs very well. Match of the year with Cody in 2019.

Would go so far as to say it was the match that brought me back into watching wrestling properly after a hiatus of nearly 20 years. One of the best I've ever seen

The bucks matches looks like gymnastics not fighting...and have way too many high spots that doesn't end with a pinfall... So much no selling...

The best matches make you forget its not real... It should make you feel like its a real fight...
I watch bucks matches, and omega matches, where it looks like they've broken someones neck, only for the move to be no-sold and countered with a damn super kick (which is also no sold)...
As you guys said, no psychology...
If you get hit with a destroyer (as you will be in every aew match), and it's not the finish (which it should be in tv matches), the wrestler should be selling a neck injury for the remainder of the match... Instead they treat it like a clothesline..

Superkicks literally have no value to me anymore

Greatest match ever for me that one... Their hell in a cell match not far off either... Proper psychology

Hart and Austin at WM13 still probably the best in my mind. I just think Hart was one of the best combinations of wrestler/ring psychologist I've ever seen. And his turnbuckle bumps are unreal.

On my journey through old WWF, I got a new found appreciation for the Undertaker. His Broken Skull Session interview with Austin is amazing, would recommend if you haven't seen. He was a high flying 6"8 guy who could do all sorts of amazing athletic moves, but didn't because it would have been contrary to the essence of his character. The Bucks could learn a lot from hearing him map out his original thoughts when he was given the gimmick

Yep saw the Taker interview, interesting stuff, would have liked it to be longer and gone more in depth...

Hart vs Mr. Perfect at Summerslam probably my favourite Hitman match, but loved the Austin match too
