GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

I have a real dislike of Becky Lynch in the WWE. The push they gave her totally ruined the Rhonda Rousey run as I just don't believe Lynch was in her class.

It's old history now, but I'm still bitter...

Punk
Danielson
Cole
Black
MJF
Omega
Lucha Bros.
FTR
Miro
Jungle Boy
Starks
Mox
Kingston
Page
Allin
Baker
Cargill

Such a loaded roster now, have no idea how they're going to pack them into 3 hours of weekly tv. I hope and think we're well and truly past the days of Janela and Sonny Kiss

How the fk are you blaming wwe for that???!!!!....stupid wrestling fans ruined Rousey, they started booing her out of every building despite her matches being unbelievable for someone still in their first year of wrestling....the fans wanted Becky, so Vince gave them Becky....

very good ppv....

Miro is being booked perfectly at the minute.....Britt Baker is a star....

Tag match was good, but again a little over done for my liking....too much no selling of moves......i wish aew would learn also, that if they stopped s**t like that happening every match every week on dynamite, then it would be a lot more effective in big PPV matches...

Darby Allin is gonna be in a wheelchair long before he should...jeez he takes some scary bumps...enjoyable match though...

Not a fan of MJF losing to Jericho, but thought it was a well paced match for Jericho...

Fair point, I'm just not a fan of one person getting a push like that, though of course, if that's what the people want...

But you're right, they ruined Rousey

And then they gave her again, and again, and again, and again...

That's WWE's biggest problem to me.

Just seen the Britt Baker v Kris Statlander match; best women's wrestling match I've ever seen

AEW woman's division is so much better and more believable than the WWE.
I'm not sure I agree with that.

WWE's women's division has got loads of talent too, especially if you expand that to NXT as well. I have always felt that AEW has a handful of great talent and a load of women who at the very least need some kind of identity.

The potential for it to be good is there.

Haven't seen NXT so can't comment.

Just feel when watching WWE that it's all a bit stop/start and they wait for the other to be ready for their move.

Big exception is Charlotte Flair. But then she's a Flair and you'd expect her to be good.

AEW is even worse for this, to the point its often unwatchable for me. A stunt show.

Watched the free pre-show on YouTube and it was dire.

Aye, quite a few culprits in AEW, particularly in the tag division. I'm hoping the recent additions might stem this a little, because they have a lot of genuine talent now and most of them don't need to be doing gymnastics to get over

Watched the Punk/Allin match and it was refreshing to just watch a match called on the fly by a veteran with rest spots and psychology.

AEW has a bunch of poorly booked amateur backyard wrestlers just 'doing stuff', whereas WWE have overly booked matches with no freedom of expression, so nobody has a personality.

The sweet spot is in the middle and, hopefully, talent like Punk/Danielson will shape it a bit there.

WWE, on the hand, is a write off.

I would say Asuka is the best wrestler in the company male or female personally.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Have any combination of Asuka, Flair, Bayley, Banks, Shirai, Kai etc and you will get a top quality match more often than not. Throw in a Carmella (who is OKish) or a Nia Jax and the quality will drop a bit. AEW is exactly the same. put in Baker, Shido, Statlander or Rosa in and it will be great. Add The Bunny or or Conti in there and it won't be as good (and there is nothing wrong with either of them.)

Yeah, the ratio is getting better but there's still a lot of house to clean. The contrast between the star power they just brought in compared to what they had is very apparent when they are next to each other

One thing most of the AEW "homegrown" talent lack is just basics. Like they learned the flippy stuff before they learned how to strike, run the ropes, how to use ring psychology. Even the ones I think are good and have potential, like Jungle Boy, can't strike for crap and baby step into the ropes in anticipation of the next spot.

Being thrown into the ropes is already a suspension of disbelief, so you really need to hurtle into them to make it look like what it is supposed to be. Watching Private Party do their tiny little jog into the ropes is painful. Only a few high fliers, Allin and Fenix off the top of my head, get proper acceleration and look like their stuff hurts.

And then you look at striking. Compare Christian and Dustin Rhodes who, even now, look like they are walloping their opponent and getting proper purchase on their shots. Very few modern wrestlers seem to be able to throw a punch and some of the AEW ones are particularly bad.

Yeah pretty much my thoughts on it all.

The best part of WWE for me (NXT) is now being changed by the looks of it too so my interest will wane. Everyone on WWE feels stale to me, out of the whole main roster the only wrestler I really care about is Damian Priest because he is new enough and getting a decent push. Anything else I can take or leave.

I would kill for a main play by play guy right now who doesn't sound bored (Ross) or sounds like he hates the viewers (Cole). I know its going back years now but I miss the days where the main play by play guy was your mate. In the past Monsoon or even Vince himself would welcome you in and tell you what is coming up and not to miss it because its going to be awesome (or a happening in Monsoon's case) etc. It's a very subtle thing that makes a big difference.

I like Dynamite. It kind of reminds me of what the WWE used to be like in the Attitude era; loud, aggressive, in your face, low down and dirty.

Modern WWE is just too sanitised. It's lots the element that gave it an edge.
