GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Backlash was alright, not amazing.

I usually love the non-US crowds, they're so much more up for it than at home, but this lot got a bit much with the repetitive terrace chanting by the time of the main event.

Orton & Owens vs The Bloodline was entertaining, they beat the absolute crap out of each other. Owens' Brainbuster on Tama Tonga off the top rope, through the stack of chairs, was a highlight of the night, and Tanga Loa wasn't the surprise everyone was expecting. I can see the Bloodline story heading into some kind of NwO B&W/NwO Wolfpac territory in the future.

Women's three way alright. Naomi spent an inordinately long time lying on the floor outside the ring, but it took off in the end and the finish was unexpected. Good for Tiffany Stratton, who did the best looking work and didn't eat the pin. "Tiffy Time" is already getting a bit tedious though. You don't have to remind us every time the camera is on you.

Priest vs Jey Uso was OK. Priest perhaps needs to lose the Judgement Day to have a proper go with that title I think, and the seeds for that seem to be sown. I think he'll end up dropping it to Drew McIntyre in Scotland though. Jey is a likeable dude and he's over as hell, but his moveset is ever so limited and I kind of find him a bit boring in the ring, although this was arguably his best singles showing.

Women's tag was kinda bad, with a good finish. It lost its way in the middle and got a bit botchy. Jade Cargill is very green and no doubt she'll get the stick online but Kairi Sane was mostly at fault IMO.

Cody vs AJ Styles was excellent, exactly what you'd expect from two guys of their experience and ability. Seeing a Burning Hammer performed in WWE was a rare surprise. Cody starting to feel like a proper champ.

Overall: Mid PPV and an annoying crowd.

I agree with most of what you just said. No comment on the womens matches though as I skipped those to save some time.

I do struggle with Jey Uso though. I don't like his in-ring work at all and I also find his character a bit annoying. He went from being great in the Bloodline to an absolute goof as a babyface.

I also hope that's the last time I ever see Cody do the Hogan hulking up thing. It was boring in the 90s and it's even worse in 2024. lol

AJ Styles though. He's just a level above the rest on this show.

Agree with you about Jey Uso. Boring, limited moveset, and that "Yeet" gimmick is at least two years too late.

I was kind of peed off with Cody "Hulking up" after that Burning Hammer, given the history of that move and how genuinely nasty it looks.

AJ Styles is just unbelievable, isn't he?

Really enjoyed that episode of raw.

Sometimes it’s good to just get a load of wrestling matches and let the talent show what they can offer

I do wish Becky Lynch would go away though. I find her insufferable these days.

Do any of you guys watch Wrestle Me on YouTube? Classic 1980/1990's WWF/WCW review and quite funny
I love those guys, they're funny AF. Not enough to buy their Patreon though lol

Their full length podcasts where they review every Wrestlemania plus a few other things is all available on Spotify. Should keep you entertained for a bit.

Have I missed something, has there been a race issue with Tiffany Stratton?

It was on X, but I don't take a lot of notice of that
