Ok time for my predictions tonight. The problem i have with my predictions is that WWE has been awful for months now, they can either make an awful PPV for Wrestlemania with very obvious and predictable results or they can decided "you know what, we need to give back to the fans and we need to put on a good show, this is wrestlemania DAMMIT" and they could pull out some suprising results and shocking twists and turns and make it one of the best PPV's of all time.
I have no idea which way it will swing but my predictions will be based on the latter. I don't like predictable.
Pre-Show predictions:
Uso's v Dudley Boyz - seriously this is on the pre-show. Jesus Christ. I'm going for a Dudley Boyz win here. At both Night of Champions AND Hell in a Cell they were denied the chance to win their 10th tag team title in the WWE. I think the company will give them a win here and give them a chance to maybe challenge the New Day for their 10th tag team title on Monday Night Raw. The Dudley Boyz have an awful Wrestlemania record though having never won a match that they have competed in. The company could screw them over here but I would much prefer to see the Dudley Boyz win than the Uso's. They inducted Jaqueline into the Hall of Fame last night and they should be in the Hall of Fame one day as well. Also WWE are promoting “Straight Outta Dudleyville – The Legacy of The Dudley Boyz” on the WWE Network next Thursday, so it would be good timing. Make sense really when you think about it...
The Total Divas v B.A.D & Blonde - seriously this is on the pre-show as well. Who Cares. Got to be the Total Divas right? Potentially Brie Bella's last match ever before she retires and has babies with Daniel. Eva Marie is just awful though. Lana is just awful as well. They've been building her up in the past few weeks though but she has no in ring ability. Grabbing someone by the hair and screaming is not wrestling. Natalya, Paige or Brie Bella to get the pinfall or submission to win. Hopefully it will be Natalya, i like her and she needs a push.
Kalisto v Ryback - Kalisto to retain his WWE United States Championship using his speed and agility. Ryback's feed me more gimmick is old and no one likes him. Kalisto needs a better challenger to dethrone him in the future.
Main Card predictions:
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale - Rumour is Mark Henry is not competing. I'm suprised as my understanding was that this would be his last Wrestlemania before he retires and the WWE may have given him the win as a send off. It is also his home state...but it is also Goldust's home state too. He looked fine at the Hall of Fame last night, laughing throughout especially when New Day came out, he also got a shout out from Snoop Dogg.
The confirmed competitors are:
Jack Swagger
R-Truth
Goldust
Big Show
Kane
Konnor
Viktor
Tyler Breeze
Damien Sandow
Darren Young
Heath Slater
Bo Dallas
Adam Rose
Curtis Axel
Fandango
Mark Henry (hopefully)
It's a 20 man battle royal.....so that means that 4 competitors are missing.
My guess on the four remaining competitors are:
Cesaro
Braun Strowman
Erick Rowan
Bray Wyatt / Finn Balor / Baron Corbin / Randy Orton - (most likely Bray Wyatt though)
I'm going to immediately dismiss anybody involved in a team i.e. The Social Outcasts, the Wyatt Family, Konnor & Viktor, Goldust & R Truth etc...
Teams don't win, its a battle royale you can't have a showdown with two mates.
I'm going with either a Cesaro comeback win or Mark Henry emotional tribute win.
The New Day vs The League of Nations - Probably one of the worst booked matches in Wrestlemania history. Anybody other than The League of Nations should be competing against The New Days. The New Day v Kane and Big Show would have been better to watch than this shambles. League of Nations are an awful stable. However what some people might not realise is that the Tag Team titles are not even on the line here. This is just a handicap match. WTF. Yes I know, the world's greatest stage and the tag team titles are not even at stake. What. Is. The. Point.
There's two ways this can end. The League of Nations beat up The New Day with a significant numbers advantage and win and they then set up a tag team titles match on Monday Night Raw OR the New Day get help from someone to win. My guess is that the Rock will help The New Day to win. The problem with that theory is surely they can't have the Rock wrestle and potentially get injured...
The New Day are the most exciting tag team in the division. To have them lose and appear weak would be a bad move. I think they will end up winning with some assistance (maybe from Francesca) but they should win this. Its not really a handicap match anyway cos having Barrett is like having 1 less person anyway.
AJ Styles v Chris Jericho - Hard one to call this. My sentiment lies with Jericho but everything is pointing to an AJ Styles win. The fans still love Jericho even though he is heel, its hard to not like him, he's funny, he's charismatic and you can't just erase his past in your head and the amount of joy his wrestling brought to the masses. AJ Styles in the new kid on the block, WWE probably want to give him a massive push just like how they pushed Orton as being the Legend Killer. You don't pay big bucks for Styles to see him lose at Westlemania. I imagine Jericho understands the business inside out and how he has a duty to put over other wrestlers. Jericho has nothing going for him now, he's just a name in the business like Big Show, like Kane etc. AJ Syles has potential to be a big superstar and therefore a win here at Wrestlemania over Jericho will give him a massive push. I hope he gets the chance to compete for the US Championship, he'd be a much better opponent than Ryback.
Charlotte v Becky Lynch v Sasha Banks - A triple threat match for the WWE Divas Championship. The key point to note is that this title is still called the Diva's Championship, it won't be re-named and re-branded until after the match on Monday Night Raw. There is therefore a possibility that Charlotte leaves at the Diva's champion and that Sasha Banks later becomes the new Woman's Champion after the re-brand. However, Charlotte has been on a win streak for a while now with interference from her father in nearly every match. Its boring and predictable now. The run will end. My heart says Becky Lynch deserves to win this but my head says Sasha Banks will end up winning. Becky's matches have been exciting and better to watch than any other Diva's match including Sasha Banks, that is not Sasha's fault though as she has mainly been given limited matches and when she does wrestle its against someone bad. Sasha Bank is clearly the best female wrestler on the scene and the most popular it would make sense for her to win. What I am really excited about is the fact that these 3 women were in NXT a year ago and in less than one year all three will be on the main card at wrestlemania fighting for the Diva's Championship. Incredible.
Kevin Owens v Sami Zayn v Dolph Ziggler v Zack Ryder v Sin Cara v The Miz v Stardust - 7 man ladder match for the Intercontinental Title - This is clearly WWE's answer to - how can we make a title match interesting and drag it out for at least 20 minutes. Oh I know we will get all the has been's who haven't been picked to wrestle at this years Wrestlemania yet and get them fight Kevin Owens in a ladder match.
Sami Zayn is the future of this company. There I have said it. He deserves to win this match. His match at NXT Takeover was unbelievable and if he wins he can set up a great feud with Kevin Owens. This is what the fans want. Kevin Owens retaining the title would be predictable and boring. Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder deserve better than this but I can't see either of them winning the title. The rest are just jobbers and should be nowhere near a title shot at the moment. Crazy to think that The Miz actually headlined and won the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania not too long ago as well.
Dean Ambrose v Brock Lesnar - expect PG to go out the window here. Dean Ambrose to give it his all but Lesnar's power to overcome him. I expect weapons, blood, suplexes and Lesnar to triumph. The lunatic fringe v THe lunatic in a street brawl. This will be a great match to watch, could be an all time classic. Lesnar will have moments of weakness and Ambrose will not doubt be on top on some occasions, I image he will be using Barbie quite a bit (hence the no PG and lots of blood). I expect Lesnar to fight back with F5's and suplexes and to win. He needs to maintain his image as the Beast Incarnate. Ambrose losing will not affect him, a hard fought match with Lesnar could even boost him to new levels and give him a chance to eventually compete at the top for the belt like the way Jericho eventually had to work hard to become the WWE Champion. Jericho lost against Triple H at Wrestlemania 18 for the WWE Title but still became a 6 time world champion.
Triple H v Roman Reigns - I am going against the grain here. Big Time. WWE do not want Reigns to be boo'd if he wins, it would ruin the entire Wrestlemania. If Triple H wins it will be a massive shock and it also means that they can still let Reigns win the title on Monday Night Raw. Reigns won the title on Monday Night Raw the first time before Sheamus dethroned him. I'm not sure how this one will play out. Will there be an interference? Maybe... the Authority only exists to create heat. The only way they know how to play is to play dirty. The only problem I have is Triple H was the overall winner at Royal Rumble and he defeated Ambrose at Roadblock and he's screwed over Reigns numerous times. The ultimate revenge is to beat Triple H at Wrestlemania, the grandest stage of all. This would stick it to the Authority, make Reigns the champion and potentially the future face of the company. Reigns has been pushed heavily since the likes of Orton, Undertaker, Cena and Rollins have either been injured or too old to compete. WWE needs a new superstar. Reigns is that man. Only problem is that the fans dont like Reigns lol AWKWARD!
If Reigns wins then they may as well switch off the Life Support Machine at WWE. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Imagine the Boos that will be raining down on Reigns at the end of the match and on Monday Night Raw. Surely not. Surely they cannot have Reigns win. Maybe a DQ will at least save Reigns and maybe he goes beserk on Triple H at the end to get some fans on his side but he can't win.
Shane McMahon v The Undertaker - I don't care what anyone says you can't have The Undertaker lose again at Wrestlemania. If he loses to Shane McMahon it will be an even bigger farce than Roman Reigns winning. The Undertaker is Mr Wrestlemania, Hell in a Cell is his Match. I have no doubt whatsoever that Shane McMahon will do everything in his power to make this an entertaining match and will put his body on the line for the occasion but there is no way he can beat The Undertaker in a 1 v 1 situation. Undertaker may be old but Shane is not even a proper wrestler he's been out of the ring for years and now all of a sudden he has to beat the Phenom in order to get control of Monday Night Raw from his daddy Vince.
I have no doubt whatsoever the Shane will get control of Monday Night Raw but not by beating the Undertaker, this feud with Shane and his Daddy may even drag out to SummerSlam next yet but Shane clearly has something on Vince and he is the devil's son, who is to say that Shane will not just renege on his agreement.
The only other alternative is that Shane get's some assistance and beats the Undertaker but who would help him? Stone Cold? I dunno, i don't even want to speculate but if there is going to be a winner, I choose The Undertaker to finish off Wrestlemania with the win and to set up and epic Monday Night Raw.
I will see you all in a few hours to see what happens.
