Bryan said he didn't 'respect' the holder of the Intercontinental title while he did respect the belt.
Called the Miz a coward and the Miz just went off.
It is amazing.
Bryan said that if he could describe the stereotypical "soft" WWE-style wrestler when he was on the indie scene, he would have described The Miz, and called him a coward for the way he wrestled.
The Miz then went absolute berserk, said he wrestled that way so he can wrestle for 10+ years without injury etc.
Best promo I've seen from any wrestler for a very long time. Found myself agreeing with Miz, especially in light of Balor stripped after one day etc.
I don't think so - I think the general idea for the whole thing was a work - have Bryan and Miz play indie guy/new era vs. old guard guy... but I think it was a shoot in how it played out due to what Bryan said.
Either way, best thing since 2011 on WWE TV in terms of a promo.
Work or shoot, they need to give The Miz the mic more in that sort of way. Let him be passionate about the wrestling and being disrespected.

Maybe it's the beginning of a Bryan heel turn as he keeps booking Miz against tougher and tougher opponents in order to "break" him, eventually leading to him bringing Joe in as his personal hit man? Miz can keep fighting off all these tough guys until finally succuming to Joe's choke?

I actually like that gimmick, especially since they added Maryse as his valet
It's a total mid card gimmick of course, which is fine, but if they want more from him they'll have look at making him more serious, so maybe this is the start of that?
You need interesting or fun gimmicks in the middle of the pack. I loved "Dashing" Cody Rhodes and thought it was good campy fun. He was never going to main event with it, but it served a purpose, same as guys like Rick Martel and The Godfather. Gimmick that the fans "get", and you can have them fighting for the IC Title, but they also have a ceiling
