GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Did anyone else get to the silver blades arena in Greater Manchester last Sat? What a fantastic show they put on. I don't know if anyone on here has heard of WCPW (what's culture pro wrestling) but you should check them out if you get the chance. They had a fan convention before the show with legends such as Bret Hart, JR and others there. The show itself was fantastic and featured Alberto Del Rio among other stars and culminated in the main event of Kurt Angle Vs Cody Rhodes. I've not seen much of WCPW before and I believe it's an internet based show but I'm gonna try and watch more of its shows as what I saw on Sat was brilliant.

Wcpw is an media company mate. They have a website youtube channel and now started their own wrestling company as that is their main interest.

Actually recommend checking them out on YouTube. They have weekly shows like how wwe should have booked, wtf moments from each show which are funny and all sorts.

I can only assume that Dixie refuses to let the company go and their fighting over its direction. Honestly the woman is poisonous, the only reason her family have allowed her to spend as much as she has on TNA is to keep her the hell away from other (aka more important) parts of the family business.

But what does she get out of clinging on to it?

It's a money losing disaster and seemingly no one left in the company likes her anyway

She'll get mere buttons for it

Just sell it on, who cares what its future direction is? Corgan clearly has plans to continue the "legacy" of the company, so just leave him to it

She's an absolute disaster of a person mate

She's like a spoilt little child mate. In her mind TNA is hers and nobody else can have it. Money? She's got loads of it and is prepared to lose more just to be spiteful. Sounds crazy to you and me but we've had to work for a living, she's just gets given whatever she wants by her father who is desperate to keep her away from the real part of his business. It's pathetic that she's prepared to risk loads of people's livelihoods just so she can keep her favourite toy. No doubt she'd say that she's concerned for the future of the company without her but that's BS because TNA won't have a future if she doesn't get the hell out of the company now.

What a mark out moment it was (first one in a long time) to see Goldbergs entrance again at Raw. Not bad promo either. This kind of larger than life characters is the reason why wrestling is so damn awesome sometimes.

Glad Goldberg is back

If you weren't a WCW watcher and only saw him in WWE, I can understand why you'd be underwhelmed, but he was ACES in WCW before they ruined him with terrible booking

Both of these. And I wasn't even a WCW person. But it's Goldberg ffs.

WWE buried him because he was WCW, like they did with the majority. Only the superstars over with the fans done anything of note

I wouldn't even say WWE buried him when he was there for that short time. He was just never going to dominate at that time like on WCW. No chance ever. But even then he had moments. Like in the Elimination Chamber at Summerslam, 2003 I think, where he smashes everyone and everything and it's awesome. He was allowed to still be Goldberg. It was just not really the right time for him to be there.

But was probably the only time they'd have got him back then really.

The biggest issue was they used to put him in long matches and the man couldn't wrestle for long periods, tried to make him cut promos when it was clear he was poor at it. They could have booked him much better but alas it wasn't to be

I wouldn't say WWE buried him. He's the only ex WCW tallent (Hulk Hogan doesn't count) who wasn't buried by WWE or Triple H during the reign of terror. He beat the Rock, Chris Jericho, Brock Leasner, Triple H two or three times and many other's. The only defeat I can think of would be Armageddon 03 when he lost the title to Triple H after a triple threat match with Kane and even then he was made to look a monster. His WWE run was actually better then the second half of his WCW run. Nothing could even come close to his first WCW run though, he was as over then as anyone in the business.

Agreed. I actually never watched a single second of WWE programming until pre WM 24. Didn't have any tv channels that showed their product. Tbh I didn't even know they existed back when I was a WCW fan. I watched WCW after midnight on the German sports channel DSF (with fat naked ladies in bath tubs reading up phone numbers in German during the commercial breaks), though my very first (and very brief) memory is from TNT I believe. Even the commentators at DSF were German, but we didn't care. Watching Sting, Nash, Booker etc raise hell regularly was magical.
