Don't totally agree with the game speed thing either, especially in online clubs mode, you can be amazing by keeping the ball well. Being quick to pass so you don't get charged down and getting the ball forwards quickly are two seperate things.

Maybe I'm too used to pro then, but I'm yet to whip a ball across the 'corridor of uncertainty'. Is there a cross from anywhere on the pitch button, like L1 and circle on pro?

LB + Square for early cross.

Crossing follows mostly the same rules as pro, with double taps and triple taps making it driven and so on.

LB on it's own will initiate a player run. LB + Through ball is a lofted through ball, again like Pro Evo.

In fact Goat, I'm sure there's an alternate control scheme where it will map exactly to Pro buttons, such as 'square' for shooting.

Personally I still think Fifa is a bit [Poor language removed]. It's like football by numbers, far too biased towards fast counter attacking football. It's just I attack, you attack over and over again. If you don't do something quickly with the ball when you've got it you basically lose. It's suicidal to try to keep possession and build moves properly, you have to go forwards all the time. And the crossing/heading is terrible.

ive been told a lot that if you play manual and set your ranked filter to manual , you get a much better game experience.

shame im poop at manual at the moment.stuffed by ping pong on assisted or pro's on manual is the choice . i cant win

Yeah that's the other option, it's a completely different game with manual. But I find manual shooting incredibly difficult.

On manual, everything you do with the controller is echoed exactly in the play. You control the exact length and direction of every pass and every shot. Meaning you need to be really exact with the analogue stick too.

It's really really hard.

Yeh I use the alternate one. It's exactly the same as pro except you need to change R1 and R2 round cos they put sprint on the right trigger for some reason.
