Groucho's Fact Hunt

In the mid-late 60's in LA, post a national tour which saw his elder brother, Brian, succumb to 'mental inconvenience', (and be replaced by Glenn Campbell{who incidentally sang one of my favourite songs})

...anyway, Dennis Wilson, The Beachboys' drummer, on that day, picks up a couple of young lady hitchhikers who, unbeknownst to him, happened to be part of a Californian cult 'family'.
In not unquick time, said hitchhikers introduce him to their cult 'father', a wannabe singer/songwriter of LSD'd potential/delusion called Charles Manson.

So, Charles and his 'family' presently all move into to Dennis' Sunset Boulevard mansion, where Manson is introduced to the producer of the Byrds' albums...

This producer's name is Terry Melcher (and he is the only child of a then popular songstress/actress called Doris Day)

Anyway, Terry is hanging out in LA's Benedict Canyon (with his model/actress girlfriend Candice Bergen) and suggests to Charles that they might 'cut some tracks' together.

The musical endeavour comes to naught leaving Charles feeling somewhat aggrieved....murderously so.

Charles by this time knows Terry and Candice's home address (10050 Cielo Drive) and prompted by messages he 'subliminised'
from The Beatles' recently released 'White Album' (specifically the track Helter Skelter), send his minions (in August '69) to wreak terrible revenge on his perceived affront

But Doris's lad and Candice have moved out...Roman Polanski and his wife, Sharon Tate, have taken tenancy of said property.

I will spare you the gory thereafter details, they are known well enough.

But one last noteworthy connecting piece in the jigsaw?

The murderers' getaway car was driven by certain Linda Kasabian...

...and the British rock band got their name from her.

Electricity flows through a copper wire at speeds approaching that of the speed of light (300 000 km per second)

The electrons in the wire, which carry the charge, crawl along at less than 1 mm per second.
