Love things like this. Learnt a few ona trip to Belfast a few years ago, either at the old Prison or on a distillery tour (think I've mentioned some of them here before), eg money for old rope - people used to get paid for stringing together fibres and pieces of rope to make "new" ones, and various explanations for the term "hangover", though I can never quite remember them and get them mixed up, ironically.
