I, for one, want the manager navigating the tournament rather than domestic media and the federation. I would sit one of the players on a card. The risks aren't worth the prospective gains.

I don't think the Germans are serious contenders, here. I'm not sure Nagelsmann does deep down, either.

He's hoping for euphoria to take them far, but that needed people like Wirtz becoming inspired - but whisper it: he's been anonymous in one and a half games now and Germany are looking every bit as hit and miss as their results over the last 12 months suggest they are.
