Perhaps, but just as Welsh people will cheer on the English (and Welsh) cricket team, some will not be as anti-English as is made out. Personally, I couldn't really care either way. The more home nations in, the more a buzz there is throughout the media and the every day population. Yes, banter between the two teams is all well and good, but the amount of 'backwards'/ 'bitter' comments etc. while moaning about anti-English sentiment is a little ironic!
