Somewhere in there is arguably the fastest side in the world. You could overwhelm some good sides with pace. Is it good enough to win the Euros no, but hell it would be a fun ride which is why I don't understand why you'd build the side around Rooney. And that's not to say Rooney shouldn't have a role but Rooney has to adapt to what the other 10 do well and not the other 10 adapting to Rooney.

...I think it's about getting like minded players together with a few footballers who make them play, not necessarily speedsters. I like Rooney lots, he'd certainly be in my side along with like minded players and a few ratters.

Some of this approach play is beautiful; absolutely stunning how good this is at times.

But the final ball is just off. If we can grab a goal before half-time, we're talking 2 or 3-0, I reckon.

Really good first 45 that probably would have yielded several goals had it not been for a couple of ridiculous choices in the first XI by Roy Hodgson.
