When there's a result in the other group opening match, you have to better it. You HAVE TO. You throw Milner on to defend a 1-0 in your last game. But you've got to go into your 2nd game with a win, and a stronger GD (I know head-to-head matter first, but GD is not to sniffed at). We were pounding the Russians, the first goal was great and we should've gone on to destroy them. Sterling thoroughly culpable for wasting all our best chances.

A terrible, terrible result.

i saw wales became the first british team to win their opening game at a european championship.

surely, that meant their first EVER game at a euros. Surely england have won their opening EURO game at some point?
