Yeah Poland were dreadful the whole game.
11 men behind the ball hoping to not pick up any bookings or Mexico to score.
They got lucky in the end but can't see them getting a kick against the French.

Tbh I am amazed that we haven't yet seen a group decided on lots drawn in a major tournament such are the limited number of realistic combinations available.

Would personally like the tie breaker to be goals scored rather than discipline points

Really enjoyed those games tonight. Switching from one to another. Mainly watched mex/saudi game.
There probably isnt any way to force teams to come out more in the opening group games. But possibly instead of yellow cards to decide it. Maybe it should be the total shots on target over 3 games.
On the full time whistle both teams should have to make their way to stadium no.3 where a qualification certificate is suspended over the centre circle, ladders folded in each dugout

It is. Goal difference, then goals scored, then (I think) head to head, and then disciplinary points before lots.

It is goals scored before discipline. Discipline is the 6th tie breaker. The tie-breakers are:

1) Overall group goal difference
2) Overall group goals scored
3) Head to head (H2H) result
4) H2H goal difference in all matches between the teams still level
5) H2H goals scored in all matches between the teams still level
6) Fair play points
7) Drawing of lots

Points 4 and 5 only apply if more than two teams are tied on the previous criteria.

I'm not sure how you can come to that conclusion having watched them at this World Cup. They look awful and should have lost about 6-0 today.

that is what makes me think they are the sort of team that France will have difficulty with - all the talk will be that its basically a bye, no chance Poland etc

France will eat Poland alive. Yes, Lewandowski might do something special - that's always a risk - but Mbappe, Griezmann, Giroud, and Dembele have way too much for the mediocre Poles. Their performance tonight shows them to be second round fodder. Argentina aren't even that good, but they were worth a four or five goal hiding tonight. The goalkeeper kept the score down - and the Poles in.

Argentina will get a game off the Australians, but really, the Saudi shocker should mean they don't fall victim to hubris. The Dutch will probably squeeze past the Americans, but that's arguably the tightest of the four pairings we know so far. England will huff and puff and eventually blow down Senegal, I suspect. Mane is a massive loss now.
