My old man, who has only a passing interest in football, said the very same thing to me just now. The three opponents have been better technically. "You wouldn't see England passing the ball as quickly around as that."
Is right.

Either put pace around Kane that will run in behind like Gordon, Eze and Bowen

Or drop Kane and play Watkins

The current system with a striker who has no mobility with zero runners in behind, delivers unwatchable football like that.

It's very last days of Koemans Everton. No pace, no movement, lots of players wanting to play in the same place. And zero goal threat.

I suppose that's their main hope moving forward - they probably play another team managed by another very poor manager.

He's looking for Cecil

England - for years - got away with teams giving them way too much respect in these tournaments. But they've been found out in the big matches in recent years, and others have noticed this. Slovenia tonight had a go in the first half, realised a point was there for the taking when they saw the impotence of the England attack, and shut up shop for the point they needed.

Any side that genuinely believes they can beat England has won half the battle against them. That's why the Italians or Swiss will be very dangerous come the last 8, if England get that far. The Dutch - every bit as flawed as this England side - were never ones to lack self-confidence...
