He isn’t a midfielder and shouldn’t play there. He couldn’t do a job against Serbia against quality opposition he would get punished even more. If he is to play he should play RB against the weaker opponents where we will have a lot of the ball but take him out against top teams because his defending is poor. Southgate doesn’t have a clue tho.

He's even worse there as we all know.

This is great though: Southgate is shackled by the media who demand he plays and so England are weakened.

….physically tough and competitive are Serbia and the first game in tournament football is always difficult. Winning teams will often play themselves into the tournament so we’ll have to see where England go from here but that was a solid enough start.

It was crap, no sugar coating it, it was dreadful.
