The rule is when it hits another part of your body it isn't handball. I think if it were clearly intentional that might change but that wasn't. So no handball.Still think that handball is questionable. I understand that it first struck his right arm that is in a natural position.. but surely it then deflecting onto his left arm up in the air is actively disrupting the course of the ball even more?
Other games have also had loads of chances as well as goals and talking points.
Can’t stand Peter Walton explaining the handball and var should take a look
‘ the arm isn’t in a natural position ‘
When you’re jumping Peter nobody jumps with their hands by their side. His arm was in the natural position from what he was doing
Low bar I guess. I think for a neutral USA-Wales would have been better though?Maybe it’s just me, but a close game is better than a 6-2?
I’m happy with the result. But that was a cracking game and the game I’ve enjoyed most.
Saudi-Argentina a close second. With no shock that Netherlands has been the worst game.
Yeah that's what I'm questioning. To me the ball deflecting onto his left arm there was clearly a handball as he pretty much brought the ball into his control with it - don't really understand how the rule makes sense in this context ?The rule is when it hits another part of your body it isn't handball. You can dislike the rule.

Another kin cart of the highest order given a no doubt all-expenses-paid jolly to Qatar to speak pure bullshine. And now Peter Walton is having a say on the penalty decision at the end and now he’s gone 180 and his arm being in an unnatural position doesn’t matter because it’s a deflection onto the arm
Making it up as they go

The idea is that often the ball pops off your leg and into your arm which is a harsh penalty to give.Yeah that's what I'm questioning. 'Harsh' maybe but for me it's still a penalty. Your arm has actively stopped the ball from potentially reaching an opponent - that's a clear infringement. The idea is that often the ball pops off your leg and into your arm which is a harsh penalty to give.
I honestly dont think its fair that England has to play both of them, maybe they could team up, play 22 v 11, might make it more of a challenge the bunch of actual farmers.I enjoyed USA v Wales more even though the quality absolutely stank out the Middle East.
I thought the ref gave a free kick to Tunisia when it was a corner. There was a blatant push by a Danish player as the ball came in, before the 'handball'. Perhaps he gave that to avoid having to rule on the penalty.'Harsh' maybe but for me it's still a penalty. You see that McKenzie fella wobbling around the pitch?
God they are bad.
