Flick has created a pretty impressive attacking side but you can't be this open in one off games. It's only one time you have to get unlucky and the chances go up when you concede the quality of chances they do even if they're dominant most of the match. He's like the polar opposite of Southgate.

Here, I somewhat disagree. There is at least one angle which, on the balance of probability, suggests it was out of play, which was the referee's first call.

No other angles clearly show that the ball remained in play, so personally I feel they should have gone for the first decision/most likely outcome.

If it's 50/50, go for the goal. If there's more of a chance that it wasn't, go with that.
To be fair I didnt have sound where I was watching and didn't know the refs original decision.

My gut instinct from the overhead shot is that it was just still in play because the whole curve of the ball has to be considered, not just what is touching the ground. I dont think the side angle was that good because it wasn't right in line.

But I'm definitely not sure, so if they are applying the clear and obvious test then it probably should have stayed no goal.

Fair enough. It does beg the question of why they didn't show it earlier because that angle would have counteracted the other angle.
I don’t even know if they have “officially” shown the image, my mate in Spain sent me that photo from a Spanish website ?. Shambles all round really as this could have been put to bed an hour ago really if FIFA just showed this sort of image

They've no finisher - just a pile of flashy show ponies who can't find the net. That wouldn't be too bad - Spain have a similar issue - but they also have no defence worth its name. You can't be as flawed at both ends of the field as they are and progress. Worse, their media doesn't really think there is that much of a problem. Now, they're all expressing "shock" and "disappointment", but they were, to a man and woman, predicting 3-0 and 5-0 wins tonight. As if this shower could keep a clean sheet...

It's not been shown on the TV, yet.

Aye, now I've seen that angle I would change my view and go there are two contrasting angles, so with a 50/50 split go with a goal. It's not an easy one.

But the authorities aren't helping themselves because, as mentioned above, the top view still hasn't been publicly shared, so people are basing it on one view.
