Starting to warm to this World Cup. As the mighty Northern Ireland or Ireland didn't make it this time I am completely impartial so can watch just for the sake of watching, again.
I really don't care who wins or gets knocked out I just hope we get entwining football.

I think England will comfortably beat Belgium but might struggle in the other two due to those teams sitting in. I'd definitely be open to try and play Kane and Vardy together against Belgium because you think Vardy would get some joy especially given the high line Bobby will have them playing.

I know it's a bit uncool on an Everton forum to say you like England but probably for the first time since 2002 I actually like this England team. Quite excited to see how they get on.

I'm with you but it's conditional on who plays as far as I am concerned. Don't want to see Phil Jones, Kyle Walker, Hendo, Sterling in the starting 11. But if Southgate plays the likes of Loftus Cheek, Rashford, Maguire, then I'm in.

Dier, Horrenderson, Rose, Walker, Stones, .....oh dear. Alli will be sent off for diving, all Belgium have to do is to completely ignore anything Martinez tells them and do the opposite.....like we did in our S/F in 2016...glorious...oh wait we lost that one didn't we?

You say you like this England team, after having just mentioned racist lad bible chode James vardy???????????

I see Stephen Kinnock wants the England team to wear arm bands at the World Cup Finals in Russia. Why do politians always want sport to do the things that they can't or won't do themselves.
I take it he doesn't know FIFA's rules on such protests or doesn't care. Maybe he thinks that footballers don't have enough to do when they are trying to win the World Cup and they need a bit of extra pressure.
The question I would ask Stephen is "Do politians wear armbands when they meet leaders from countries with dubious human rights records. When the Queen met the Chinese leader did he insist she wear an armband protesting their poor human rights record.
Does Stephen wear an armband to Parliament when he sits in the same Chamber as the DUP who deny rights to the people in Northern Ireland which are free to those in England, Scotland and Wales. Have a wee word with yourself Stephen and for goodness sake wise up.

If England ever host a tournament again everyone else sshould wear armbands too.

Mate, if footballers had to be morally impeccable for us to like them we wouldn't be able to watch the game. But anyway, I'm talking about the team as a collective and him as a footballer specifically. But you keep on fighting the good fight.

I actually think Southgate has handled it pretty well, especially with a load of tories trying to get him to take a political stance, which he straight batted away nicely, basically telling boris johnson to pipe right down. The team are at least a couple of good possession players away from being a good tournament side, three at the back is one way of getting past that to some extent but they will get found out when the games mount up.

None of this suits my agenda so I will focus on that rat vardy, and the unlikeable delli average and jordan horrenderson

I hear ya Adam. None of the Beckham/Gerrard/Lampard/Terry/Rooney "Golden Generation" sideshow this time around, so yeah England are all of a sudden likeable again, even to us foreigners. The lesser over-the-top British media hype this time around helps as well.

I was an England fan in 1986 and 1990; then from 1998 supporting England became nauseating.
