Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

Wish we could spend like this. At the end of the day every club would love to be able to do it City are just lucky enough to be the lottery winners. I do agree with those like Dan who question how good a manager he is though, there is a debate to be had because this is just shooting fish in a barrel.
You say you wish we could spend like this, but we would only waste even more money.
Look at what we havent spent over the last 5 years, 10 years ago we dreamed about these sums, and when we got them wasted it, if we had more money all we would do is finance other clubs even more for rejects.

I cannot put Guardiola as one of the greats when he's shown he can only do a job where he's not at the biggest club in the league or richest team in the league, (barca and bayern, or a petro dollar state one.)

The Barca job with the talent at his disposal that he inherited with Messi, Henry, Xavi, Ineista, Puyol, Xavi, Pique, Eto'o Busquets, quite a few managers would have won just as much with what he did with that team, Enrique a manager on the tier below won a treble with practically the same players and Suarez and Neymar added 2-3 years after Pep left Barca.

Bayern at 3 seasons he couldn't add another CL with that all conquering side under Heynckes, and that is with including Lewandowski as soon as he arrived.

When Grealish is signed, his spending will be £839 million at City , going into his 5th season and still City are the biggest underachievers in the history of the European Cup, laughable with that outlay they have only gotten to one final, bottled it and before that got knocked out of the mighty and great european giants of Spurs, Lyon and Monaco.

Mourinho won a European Cup and Uefa cup with Porto in successive seasons

LVG won a European Cup with a team of kids.

Rafael Benitez won 2 La Ligas with Valencia in the era of the Galacticos of Real Madrid and when Barca had Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Kluivert and won a Uefa cup, he also won a CL with a very much unfancied side very much like Mourinho's Porto were.

Ranieri winning the PL title with Leicester.

I put those managerial exploits above as more impressive then winning CL with Messi, Iniesta and Xavi, winning consecutive titles in the 1 team bundesliga and spending the GDP of sudan every season to flat track bully 80% of the PL.

Very good points.

But I think his attributes are more down to getting the best to play at the very best as well as revolutionising the modern game (eg teams wanting to play the pep way etc).

But he's certainly not on the list of greats like your SAFs etc

Fascinating. Your hatred of Man City and Pep seems to run very deep. Also nice little cheeky endorsement of Benitez thrown into the mix there.

We are watching you.

You should start charging Man City rent money for living in your head, think of the wedge you could make with all that sportswashing they do

City certainly arent underachieving in the league, unlike Liverpool.

Couldn't agree more, Mourinho is finished but still will be remembered for the greater achievements

Yes the treble season with a Portuguese team is far beyond what Guardiola has done as an ancheivement.

His press conference was laughable today, saying they bought Grealish for 40 million, as they sold "60 million" of academy players, no Pep you spent 100 million on Grealish, bought 3 Brazilian kids for £25 million, and sold 4 players for £ 32 million.

Why would he say that, when a quick Google search shows the actual truth, maybe because he's so neurotic and and it gets to him how he's spent almost £900 million in 5 summers, £300 million of it during a pandemic when they have posted £170 million losses during it.

Cannot wait when after he's signed the diving mouth breather for £150 million and he's asked "so Pep you have spent £ 450 million during a pandemic care to add how you did that when your club has made losses close to £ 300 million the last 3 seasons". He'll be squirming in his seat just like after the fa cup final press conference when he was asked about his wages being supplemented by Abu Dhabi companies to keep them off the city wage bill/ turnover.
