Torres Appearances: Lge 23; FA Cup 3; Carling Cup 2; Europe 9 = 37 Games Total.

Gerrard Appearances: Lge 30; FA Cup 2; Carling Cup 0; Europe 0 = 41 Games Total.

Hope that is sufficient closet man. (y)

And still the RS won nothing, and all the money Benitez has not been given.

As I said, they have rarely been paired together this season, only about 15 times or so. Considering that they've had a good season, finishing second to a very good side. They also beat Manchester Utd without either, proper two man side them lid.

Alonso was there best player this season, Kuyt also had a very good season outwide. Just a question, how are they a two man side?

The Rs have won a lot of games without their best 2 players, more so than they did last year, it saddens me to say, but with those 2 in their team they are fairly unplayable.

Torres is an amazing player, words can not express how I feel that he plays for them.

I never said they where a two man team, but that has been mentioned by many. The RS fans dont help dispell this theory by bemoaning injuries to those two players. For instance, "we would have won the League if Gerrard and Torres had remained fit". That to me indicates they over rely on these two players more than any other. Let me ask you a question, who do Everton over rely on??? Good season or not, they have won nothing in three season's despite spending millions, FACT!!

Barca won it well and nice to see Fergie say as much but overall it wasnt a bad season for them was it?

Well strictly speaking, Liverpool have statiscally been better without Gerrard and Torres in the starting line-up so i dont know what better results they could have achieved if both were fit. A good case could be made if both where injured and results went against them but this is not the case.

I've seen you call them a two man team before and I pulled you up on it, you never replied to my post though. It's a load of bollocks (especially this season) and I felt the need to pull you up on it again.

As your stats prove Torres missed alot of League games and Gerrard missed eight games himself and Liverpool still challenged for the title. They didn't depend on both and they won games without them during the season. Pretty much proves that this season it was far more of a team game for them.

I'm not going to get into whether or not Liverpool had a good season, I'll just be called a Kopite so there's no point. We won’t go there, it’s all about opinions I suppose.

Last season you could argue that we depended on Yakubu, this season not as much. The same could be said of Manchester Utd with Ronaldo last season, considering he scored 42 of there goals.

So what is the excuse for your the RS during the 2007-08 season?

Torres 33 League Games + Gerrard 34 League Games = No Trophies.

This season, Liverpool played and won on 8 occasions against 10 men or less and had a countless number of penalties. They are a decent enough side but ultimately are a team of sprinters, unlike United who can run the Marathon. If Moyes had spent the Money Benitez has over the last three season's and never won silverware, he would have been shown the door. Teams that come second are forgotten quite rapidly.

They did rely too much on them last season, that is a fair argument and the media (at the time) where right to bring it up. This season though, people who spout that rubbish (like you did) are wrong and need to do a little bit of research. That’s all I’m saying, you made on honest mistake and I corrected you.

They’ve proven this season that they are not a two man side as other individuals have contributed and they’ve won games despite the fact that Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard to a lesser extent have missed games.

Maybe that'll change next season, who knows? Every season is different, you don't know who your key players will be, who will perform and who won't. We'll have to wait and see.
