Having a really good season. Far more creative from open play than I ever thought he might be.

If I have any criticism, it's that he hasn't looked even remotely close to scoring a free kick for us yet and he's meant to be boss at them, but I'd be splitting hairs

It must be doing his nut in how wasteful we've been. Whilst i'm sure he's a team player, every player will want individual praise too.
If I was Silva I'd sit down all our forward players in front of an effin big screen and make them watch 12 hours of back to back videos of City and the RS in and around the box. Their players are all coached to be unselfish and always seem to make the right decision if somebody is in a better position to score. Even scumbags like Sterling and Firmino do it. No way this comes naturally to most players. They'll have it drilled into them. We need to do the same. I've lost count of the number of opportunities wasted just this season from bad decision making.

28 chances created this season. Second to David Silva with 29
That's excellent to be fair. Obviously a lot of those come from his set pieces, but I've been more impressed by his chances created from open play so far this season. We saw a glimpse of this in the Southampton game, but this has moved on a level since the Arsenal game. Helps that he has players in front of him making the runs, but he still needs to have the vision and the technique to deliver the pass, and invariably he does. He's currently showing what a top player he is.

The one thing I've not been happy with are his set pieces (goal attempts) around the box. They've been shocking so far; he rarely get's it over the wall and I don't even recall him testing the keeper yet. I'd like to see Bernard have a go next time. He certainly has it in his locker too.

The weird thing is that he has 28 chances created and 1 assist. Our finishing must be horrendous.

On the whole yes. But there have been some very good keeping performances against us this season. Plus quite a few of those chances would have been headers from corners, and we haven't taken good advantage of some of the excellent balls being put in the box. Hopefully Mina can change that.

I'd like to see us mix up our corners a bit too. They all seem to be out swingers. I'd like to see a few in swingers coming in and put a few men on the near post.

that is a weird one, we in general just seem to be very poor at free kicks, can't even remember the last one we scored? was it lukaku at home to palace 2 years ago? shocking that if it was

I wonder where the posters slagging him off previously have sloped off to now. Eating humble pie I presume. Wouldn't it be nice if one of them was big enough to admit that they were totally wrong.
Not sure they've sloped off anywhere mate. Most of them were probably like me and just wanted more out of him. He's our main playmaker and earlier in the season he wasn't giving us enough. I said as much after the West Ham game and that we needed more of what he brought against Southampton. All credit to him for doing just that, and it's fair to say he's probably been our most effective player since then. But I don't feel any need to eat humble pie. What I said at the time was true.

Not digging at him at all, just pointing out that siggy with one assist doesn’t show how creative he has been, he should be on at least 4-5 assists already . That’s being conservative too, 11 games 7 goals and 5 assists would be very impressive and they are the stats of a player that would cost 45m imo . If he keeps this up a lot people on here will have to eat a lot of humble pie
Not digging at him at all. just pointing out he has an octagonal head.lol
