Hold on a second...lets look at Gylfis performances since signing...

33 games last season
18 games this season

Of those 51 games how can you suggest im being unfair to say that the majority have been below par with only a small % of top class performances?

Youve alluded to a comparison with some superstar players who also have a few off games.

The reverse is true with Sigurdsson. Since singing the majority of games have been below the level required.

Even if we just based it on stats, in the premier league last season his rating was 6.88 on whoscored.

This season it is 7.17 which is fine. Not amazing but fine...

If we look at the consistency this season over the last 8 games.

7.03 united
6.85 brighton
7.56 chelsea
7.98 cardiff
6.68 liverpool
6.26 newcastle
6.11 watford
6.1 city

Lots of views could be taken from these ratings alone...but i think theyre fair scores having watched the games...

Not the ideal numbers you want from a key player, no consistency.

He had 3 manager's in a year. If you think that's going to bring consistency for any player, you're bonkers.

Did anyone play consistently well last season? No. That's not a coincidence. That's 3 manager's with various views on the game, the players and the roles needing filling.

This season, he's got 6 league goals already. I say already because that's a very good return given the context of the rest of the players in the league...

o Leroy Sane who you really rate according to a discussion re: Coleman, had the same goals return. As does Lacazette. He's got one less than Eden Hazard for Christ sake!

He's got 2 assists also. The same as David Silva, Son, Shaqiri, Felipe Anderson.

I have no idea why you've picked "the last 8 games" as a barometer of how he's done this season and his worth to us.

Across the season his average performance is 7.17. More than fine. Especially given the amount of chances our strikers are spooning.

Is he ace every game? God no.
Over the season is he playing well?
Do his stats and performances suggest consistency across the season. Yes.

Sigurdsson has been poor for the last three or four games. And he should under no circumstance have started in a 343 against City. That was idiotic. But we've played our best football when Sigurdsson has played well. Calls for him to be sold are absurd.

I wanted Sigurdsson to succeed and maybe he will but for his own good he needs to drop to the bench for a couple of games. He also must never be seen in central midfield again.

I would play any one of these combinations as my front 4 against Spurs.

Walcott Bernard Lookman
Richarlison

If he doesn't come good in the 2nd half of the season sell for whatever we can get over £20 million if nothing else to get wages off the books.

So just didn't feel like it against Liverpool, Newcastle or Watford?
Was he bad against Liverpool? Him being subbed at Newcastle if anything should make us realize how important he is to us. He’s fine, he’s needs to play, but he’s not the one missing chances.

Him being terrible and taken off at Newcastle should make us realize how important he is?

He's been very sub-par for 4 straight matches after a great run of matches where he looked like loads say he is normally.
