His first half stats made me laugh. 8 completed passes and 38% accuracy.

It's a bit funny how there is a call for "being balanced" and people who don't hate him come in and say "good game for him but it's too fleeting" or that ilk.
But then you never see the people steadfastly supporting him holding their hands up after a display like yesterday.
Tosun & Siggurdsson - paceless relics of a Walsh era who have no place in a pacey attacking set up.

Honestly I've been one of his defenders and I'm happily putting my hand up to say yesterday wasn't enough from him. It was decent, nothing more, nothing less, but we needed more.It's a bit funny how there is a call for "being balanced" and people who don't hate him come in and say "good game for him but it's too fleeting" or that ilk.

It's a fair point. I just think they were all poor yesterday and alot of that was because we were down to bare bones.It's a bit funny how there is a call for "being balanced" and people who don't hate him come in and say "good game for him but it's too fleeting" or that ilk.

Its the start of the season and a LOT of those players should be "expecting" to be playing every week. If they are tired in the 4th match of the season than I think that says more about them than it does about anything else.It's a fair point. But yeah, he was poor.
I like him but he was poor and so was everyone else but he needed to step up today for us and didn't. Shame
I'm not sure what you mean about tired? My point was we have a lot of injuries and suspensions at the moment. Every team needs a settled side, in the main, to be consistent.Its the start of the season and a LOT of those players should be "expecting" to be playing every week. Bernard is too old as are Dowell Lookman and DaviesLets look at a hypothetical.
Imagine Silva thinking;
1 -- To bring Bernard in for the wings, and a central attacking position because he considers him a Sigurdsson replacement but may need time to adapt
2 -- Perhaps Lookman and/or Dowell have been retained as they are seen as players who need to be in/around the squad and getting minutes to take the attacking central role from next season
3 -- It may well be that for the transfer value we would receive there may not have been a suitable replacement available in the market...or a buyer. The focus may now be on 'who replaces' Sigurdsson for next season and several players will all be given a chance there.
4 -- Silva may not have wanted any more upheaval in the squad and so is holding onto him for a season
There are a multitude of situations and possibilities. The main one is that he wasn't signed by Silva and so he cant be accountable for the lack of ability in that position until he has the time and opportunity to keep faith or replace.
That'll enrage people, but I completely agree with it.
if you can name a top quality CF who would cost 50m I’d like you to do so now.Tosun & Siggurdsson - paceless relics of a Walsh era who have no place in a pacey attacking set up.
