He's not a midfield general mate. He's a luxury player who will shine when you have a midfield enforcer behind him who will do all the donkey work and unpleasant work like winning the football back when we lose possession and giving it to a show boater like Gylfi but he cost $50 million and is on a massive wage so what do you do?

It's not that I don't think he's working hard because he does. I meant more the showing for the ball, slowing things down, controling the game. Basically the stuff you'd expect from someone with his ability. Gomes was doing it, Gbamin was, just thought we needed more from Gylfi really. I do rate him myself like.

I’d like more out of him - but is it the way we’re playing doesn’t quite fit in with that role, especially with our insistence on overplaying it in/around the box.

I'm a Siggy guy but I'll be the first to say that he was anonymous today other than the two balls to Rich and a couple of other nice passes.

To be fair, of the guy ahead of him, the guys on his left and right, and the two guys behind him, only 1/5 were in good form/fitness today, at least until Kean came on. It's not like the end of last season where we had (almost) all of the attackers playing well.
