Football evolves, pace is everything is top flight football, unless a player is exceptional. 30 year old Sigurdsson is only going to get even slower, with and without the ball. Ancelotti will surely have far better options come August, Sigurdsson would’ve been shipped on or resigned to being a backup passenger.
Oh, and it's not just "he's been bad this season" - no, he's been awful since we signed him with the exception of around five games. He scored goals in the midst of truly terrible performances and it papered over so, so many cracks.

Worst part about it all is that he actually has the gall to wear our armband.
His movement is incredible. He's world class at hiding behind opponents so there's absolutely zero chance of him being on for a pass at any moment in any given game. He's a special talent at that.
