Koeman and Walsh should have never had this much power that season after buying Rooney, Klaasen, Sandro plus Barkley who are all essential played as attacking midfielders.
Swansea could command £45m because he was their best player but we should have gone back in January when we knew they would be goosed and cherry picked him.
He has played 103 games with 22 goals and 14 assists compare that to his Swansea career:
131 games/37 goals/30 assists bear in mind we never had a striker for a season then Fat Sam bought Tosun.
You would say he isn't that far off that form which made us but him for £45m.
Players like Pickford, Keane, Schneiderlin, Gylfi have all been bought under complete and utter chaos.
I don't defend them because as professionals they should be far better given the money but when you start changing formations, styles of play, personnel and completely ripping out coaching staff every 16 months it clearly doesn't help.
I look at us and Chelsea, the sheer number of managers both clubs tore through is sickening however the standard of player from both clubs is the difference. We bought cheap thinking it will come good, Chelsea bought the best they can.
Gylfi was and is a good player but never £45m. I hope he finds some form for us perhaps right midfield but honestly anything over £10m and he is gone.

Bily was legitimately played out of position though. It was mad.
This clown, we've moved heaven and earth to accommodate him and we've only gone backwards because of it.
The sad thing is that in years to come people will look back at his Wikipedia page and go “see, he scored 13 goals playing in the number 10 position!!!” thinking that he actually played well there.

Bily didn't cost 45million though. But I do agree he wasn't great. As have many wonderful Everton buys over the years. We do buy some dross.
And the good buys usually move on to bigger and better. That's Everton.

Truth is, he scored goals last season and that's sound but if we wanna do the stats/analysis on it, how many of them were match winners or vital? 2/3 max maybe - Leicester, Fulham spring to mind. Embarrassing footballer.
I’d say he had somewhere around 8-10 genuinely good games last season, and a fair few of them were games he didn’t even score in. Loads of his goals came in games where he was extremely poor, Southampton away was arguably his worst performance all season, popped up with a consolation in the 94th minute. The stats only tell you so much.

I can't see anyone even offering half of what we paid for him, and covering his wages. He isn't going anywhere.
I used to defend him, as he is one of the few playewrs we have offering us a goal outlet, but his performances have been disgraceful on a few occasions this season.
