Barkley was good in Martinez first season but since then has never been more than average, and has in fact been regressing over the last couple of years.

Two more seasons and he'll have devolved into an ameoba like state and yet still be a better player than Ashley Williams.

Ive read all the posts which were posted during and after the game...

Whst noone has mentioned is that the Argentina side had Caballero in goal + a defence of Salvio, Rojo, Otamendi and Tagliafico.

None of those players are top level premier league players aside from Otamendi last season...

Their midfield of Biglia(was poor) Mascherano (past it and in china) Banega (attack minded) Meza (doesnt stop biting) is also not of the best quality.

He can only perform against what is in front of him but on this occasion its not as if he was playing against top quality players.

I think we can start shouting his name and being optimistic when he puts in a MOTM performance against one of the sides like Germany, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Belgium or England which has better players.

Hopefully someone makes a bid for him and we get our money back.

None of the top 6 will be in for him
For his next club he will have little/no sell on value.

His a good player but paid way over the odds for him.
