Half Time - Everton 1-1 Spurs

Everton went in on level terms thanks to a wonderful free kick from Mikel Arteta. Uriah Rennie awarded a slightly dubious free kick just 4 minutes before the end of the first half which Arteta curled past the helpless Paul Robinson.

The half started scrappily with both Victor Anichebe and Phil Neville booked for Everton in the first 15 minutes. Fans had to wait until the 22nd minute before the first real chance of the match. The ball fell kindly to Leon Osman who volleyed on target. It took a decent save from Robinson to tip it wide.

The dead lock was broken on 35 minutes. Leon Osman lost the ball in the middle and Lennon made him pay. He burst down the wing and cut it back across goal for Dimitar Berbatov. The giant striker made no mistake and curled it beautifully past Tim Howard.

This sparked a response from Everton and they probably deserved the equaliser on 41 minutes.

After a poor start to the half the game sparked into life in the last ten minutes. We are in for an interesting second half.
