A meeting at Queens head Hotel in village Street november 1879 the clubs name
Was changed from St Domingo to Everton Football Club
Everton first official game was played on 20 December 1879
Against local church side st Peters Everton winning 6-0
That rings a bell ... it was that meeting.

One point from 15 on this day since the 'official' invention of football for tiny little Everton.

The single point (vs WHU in 2011) was gained in the last minute too.

Christ. Even in 2004/05 a bang average Charlton team strutted out of Goodison with all three points, completing their only ever PL double over us.

What was it with Moyes and London clubs? Like the anti-Dyche.

?????
The meeting was in November and the first game was December . . . so how the Hell do you get 22 January from that?
If I could remember, I'd be of more use! A meeting to discuss is one thing ... perhaps in this one a signature was involved?

This thread is a bit like on what day was Jesus Christ actually born. Some say October whilst, for some unknown reason, December 25th has been adopted.

Anyway, Happy Birthday Baby Everton. Long may you bring us false hopes and false dawns.

Remember I went to watch us play Leicester on that day in 2003 as it was my first game and I still have the ticket.

I also got a certificate of attendance in the programme of it being 125(?) years since the 6-0 game was played.

You can add in the finest of gentleman, a certain Mr William Ralph Dean to this day of birthday celebrations..
Amazing to think that he would have been 117 years old (would prob still get a game)
Also Harry Cooke and Paul Gerrard with Birthdays today ;)
Tomorrow's notable Everton Birthdays are Fred Geary, Brian Labone and Andrei Kanchelskis.
You're missing a whole new thread here @Joey66 lollol

I see you have been busy googling lol

Happy Birthday Everton! Thank you for lighting up my childhood with multiple trophies and endless celebrations. I wasn’t to know it was all very temporary. Anyways, I’ll continue to keep coming back for more, like a moth to a burning lightbulb I am..
