Original statement on Monday said that a further update would be provided on 'the future of the Chairman' within the next 48 hours, i.e. tonight.

Reading between the lines - he'll step down as Chairman but will remain in some capacity as a custodian of the club. Wouldn't pay much mind to what journos have been saying since the Monday announcement came out.

What’s happened since?

It was Maddock in the Mirror spinning that, in actuality it’s for legal reasons he’s still in atm because the club is a Ltd company and you need one member on the board in a changeover

I was I there a couple of times not an experience I would recommend.
If it was still there now I would give the following advise
Don't wear a hat or scarf
Don't carry anything I your pockets that you would like to take home
Don't wear decent shoes and avoid the toilets
Finally if Jimmy Husband was playing maybe go on the terraces instead
